Working with Theresa Nichols truly changed our lives with our dogs. We were struggling with aggression, sibling rivalry, leash manners and felt overwhelmed before starting training. Theresa was incredibly patient, understanding, and supportive from the very beginning. She took the time to really listen to our concerns and helped us understand our dogs instead of just correcting behaviors. The progress we’ve seen is amazing — our home is calmer, walks are enjoyable again, and our dogs interact with each other so much more peacefully. We feel confident and hopeful now, and we can’t thank Theresa enough. I would highly recommend her to anyone who feels stuck or stressed and needs real help with their dogs.

Susan addressed the issues I was having with my dog of 5 yrs dealing a new puppy. Her techniques work and helped bring the stress level down during meal times.

I can’t recommend Josh enough as a dog trainer! My dog Tupac, who’s already six, struggled with anxiety for years. I’d tried multiple trainers, but none made the difference Josh did. He taught me that while love is wonderful, security and structure come first. Since we established that foundation, and gave love on my terms, not just Tupac’s, his separation anxiety transformed. He’s more confident at the park, at daycare, at work, and home alone. If you’re looking for a trainer, Josh is the one!

Rachel and Betty Lou are the best. Bullet just received the AKC Virtual Home Manners (VHM) Adult Dog Title. To receive the Title, Bullet had to demonstrate 10 exercises graded by an AKC virtual evaluator. The basic training Bullet received as a puppy from Rachel and Betty Lou helped Bullet earn the VHM.They teach you how to speak the dog’s language. After each session, they left a homework assignment with a video to demonstrate the skills to work on for the next training session. I am happy that I contacted Rachel and Betty Lou to help with training Bullet.

Heather with Bark Busters Columbia North has been an absolutely incredible dog trainer for our two 4-year-old Boxers (littermates) who struggled with leash reactivity and aggression toward other dogs. We had tried other training programs with little progress, but Heather’s calm, confident approach and the Bark Busters methodology made a difference from the very first session.

Walks are now calmer, our dogs are more relaxed and responsive, and we finally feel confident handling two strong, reactive Boxers on leash.
Heather is patient, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping both dogs and owners succeed. If you’re looking for expert dog training in Columbia, especially for leash reactivity, aggression, or multiple-dog behavior issues, I highly recommend Heather and Bark Busters. We had a beagle puppy who is very very very stubborn and thought there was zero way to ever go on a smooth walk and be able to leave the house with him out of the crate and not have everything chewed up. We began working with James at Bark Busters and saw immediate changes from our stubborn dog walking by our side on every walk and him being able to chill by himself out of the crate for hours when we leave the house. James has really been the best with designing a plan and making sure we are executing it. 1000% recommend working with James and Bark Busters!
