Joanne has been great to work with on our puppy training with our very energetic lab. Before working with her our 6 month old puppy jumped, still mouthed for attention and on his human siblings, attention barked, and ruled our roost. She helped us greatly with all these concerns and more. When I had random issues following our initial training sessions she was quick to help me solve these and work through the behaviors. Our pup, while still very energetic, is now a happy companion to us all. Thank you for all your help! We highly recommend her to anyone!

If you are looking for the best dog training, with a positive reinforcement (no punishment) training program, Michelle at Bark Busters is the best. Michelle is an utmost professional, with the warmth of a family friend, and a gentle demeanor that you instantly feel comfortable around. Within minutes our puppies were at ease and comfortable around her. You can see from the start that she genuinely cared about our concerns, our puppies well-being, and our relationship with our puppies. We were impressed by her thorough interview process and methodical training approach. She took her time to create a bond with our dogs and training came about organically. In a couple of hours our puppies learned food manners, stay, leave it, off, and down. It is so refreshing for us to be able to open the front door and have them not trying to escape. We look forward to our next training session. Thank you so much Michelle for changing our lives.

Great presentation and explanation on how the program works, but we do have a very difficult husky so we have a lot of work to do with her. It was said she has good potential to do good, so we are hopeful.

Photo of Phil This year we got our first puppy - Phil. Phil is a fun loving energetic Australian Shepherd. Through a freak accident, Phil broke his tibia and was hospitalized and went through extreme period of recovery. Through this time, Phil was not able to run, jump or even go for walks. He was medicated around the clock for 6 weeks. He was hurting and confused. He struggled with energy displacement and ultimately began nipping so hard that he was leaving bruises. Through trying to facilitate a strong recovery, we did not know what to do to stop the behavior and bring back our sweet puppy. Theresa came into our home, heard our worries and concerns and totally changed our understanding of how to approach our Phil. Through the first 4 weeks Phil totally turned the corner. Theresa’s simple daily exercises and practices gave the power and leadership in our home. Phil did not only begin to drop the bad behavioral traits, but he also became the sweet and lovely companion we always dreamed of having. Theresa gave us our puppy back. We can not recommend her enough.

Great session today working with Cosette and Sadie. We addressed there barking, leash manners, and potty training. Our lesson went great, and Jennifer felt much better after our session. I am looking forward to seeing the progress they make.

Rob was amazing with Shorsy. He taught us the wedding formula and made sure we knew it was on us to follow and make it happen. He made himself a resource and guide instead of a solution which will help us succeed.

I spent a long time trying to find a trainer that concentrated on behavioral modification instead of obedience training. Ben and Bark-Busters absolutely fit the bill. I had excellent success previously with an alpha rottweiler-mix using what I learned from watching and reading Caesar Milan. That was 15 years ago and it seems I had lost my knack and was unable to take my new rescue (3 years old) on a calm walk. With some additional tools from Ben it's working beautifully. The basic approach using body language and calm energy are the same as Milan's approach. The new tools include different vocalizations, a different training collar, and a squirt bottle instead of the taps that Caesar used. Also by starting with indoor exercises - such as claiming space, food and doors --, both my dog and I were more in-sync before moving outside to walking in a more distracting environment.

It's now day-two after the first session with Ben and my dog and I are walking calmly together. Inside behavior is also improving dramatically.

I really like that I'll be able to call or email Ben as I have questions or run into problems and as we advance to more difficult areas.
