We needed some dog training after we brought our first child home from the hospital. Before the training our dog was not listening well, and we were concerned for our baby's safety. We were nervous we were going to need to rehome our dog (which was a last choice for us). Once Noah came out and helped us, we were able to have our dog and baby on the couch together without worry. That was our main concern and it was addressed, and we couldn't be happier. Not only did our main concern get addressed, but our dog now has better door manners, doesn't bark out windows as much, and he is now working on leash walking. Noah had us do an exercise with a fake dog (our dog is dog aggressive), and we were blown away at the behavior of our dog since we have started the training. We never imagined the great progress he had made in such a short time. The service is well worth the price, and Noah is always available to help when we have questions. Be prepared to make an effort to train your dog, and you will be so happy with your results.

I've had dogs my entire life and thought I was a great "pack leader" until I adopted Lupe and Rosa. I was ready to throw in the towel after 3 years of trying what I knew and what I could find online. Then I stumbled upon Pam Kars at Bark Busters. I was hesistant to sign up at first, but I needed to do something. My first session was 3 hours! Pam laid out everything we were going to work on and why, explaining how my dogs see me and their psychology. I was hoping for some instruction and some long hard practice with them afterward before I'd see anything noticeable. Boy was I wrong! Just that day alone was a significant transformation in my dogs and how they behaved. I could now walk them AND enjoy it!. Pam was there to check in and coach and support me every week and a follow up visit after 4 weeks was awesome. She coached me on something I wasn't quite doing correctly and what a difference that made. Pam is there to support me and answer questions and even come back for a visit to give hands on training. I am still on this journey, but the transformation has been nothing short of phenomenal. There's no need to go anywhere else for training and the money is well worth it, you even get lifetime support, even if you move!

My dogs have been victims of the Pitbull Stigma for far too long. The odds have been stacked against them from day 1.Caerus was scheduled to be euthanized after 3 years on a chain, victimized by the dog catchers, and finally left behind he was labeled a bad dog, a vicious pit bull. Once we saved him, he came with much baggage; fear of men, insecurities, and the desire to escape when no one was home. Michelle helped us to understand Caerus' thought process and the canine mentality and break down the situation to that we could better understand the needs of our boy. She taught us the manipulative ways our dog tried to control us without us knowing. She helped us understand situations the way our dogs perceive them, not us, because often, we misinterpreted the message our dog was given. She gave us methods to help our dogs so that we could avoid a fight between the two of them and avoid aggression toward strangers. I am so grateful for this training it will change the PITBULL STIGMA and rewrite my dog's narrative. If dog mom/dad worry consumes your life, as it did me; then the first step is contacting Michelle. You can control your pups, and your peace of mind.

It all started when I noticed some food aggression from my Doberman. Since I also have a 4 year old this was a concern of mine. So I googled food aggression and barkbusters was the first one that popped up. They sent Noah to me and after two sessions he could tell a considerable difference in my pup. It was nice having an in home trainer to teach me how to train the dog. And the fact that it is good for the life of the dog sold me. Noah was very patient with me and was very professional. 5 stars!!!

Ben and his methods are incredible. Ben is super knowledgeable, answering all of our questions with ease. He’s also super patient and super professional. In just one 3 hour session we noticed a night and day difference with our pup! 10/10 recommend Ben for any behavioral dog training needs!

We recently enlisted Tommy's assistance to help with training our 1 yr old pup and are writing to recommend him 100%. We had previously done group training classes with our puppy that he excelled at but were having more "advanced" issues specific to him. For context, he is a rescue from Puerto Rico and he's been at home with us since he was 2 months old. He loved other dogs too much, was scared of bicycles/scooters/anything on wheels, and was nervous passing people on walks, all of which resulted in out-of-control barking, lunging, etc. He also got to 50 lbs. so I was really struggling to control him physically, which was really dangerous for both of us. Lastly, he absolutely was not able to tolerate having guests over in the house when I was home alone with him and would bark and rush the door, and aggressively bark nonstop even when in his crate or a separate room. It got to the point where I dreaded our walks and was constantly tense, looking out for potential triggers. It was tough and embarrassing dealing with his freak outs and we were definitely the owner/dog pair that had to cross the street to avoid things he was fearful of or excited about. I similarly dreaded any time we did maintenance in the house, etc. because I could not have a conservation over the loud barking.
PermalinkAfter much research and some over-the-phone consultations with different trainers, we decided to work with Tommy mainly due to the stellar reviews and his ability to come to our house and address problems specific to our dog in his home environment (where his issues were the worst). Within 5 minutes of walking through the door, Tommy was able to help our dog calm down, something that has NEVER happened before. In just the first visit Tommy covered almost all the problem behaviors on my extensive list. Tommy gave us explicit directions and training techniques with notes for practicing to help us stay on track. He was completely judgement-free and listened in-depth to all the scenarios and problems I described so he could tell us how to work on them. He really seemed to understand what my dog was feeling and why. He taught me how to get my dog to respond to me with little to no treats. Immediately after the first visit, I noticed a HUGE change. We had a follow-up visit to go over additional things like recall, coming to my husband when called, reviewing ways to set him up for success with leaving him home alone etc. and to get an assessment from Tommy on the progress we've made. Tommy is also very quick/responsive via email for follow-up questions.
From the first visit to the second, it's like we have a completely new dog. I joke that it's like he's had an exorcism- but really, it is! We are now able to have relaxed, long walks that are enjoyable for the both of us. We used to receive a lot of compliments from strangers commenting that our dog is handsome, but now we are able to receive compliments without our dog subsequently barking away said stranger. We also receive a lot more "I like your dog" compliments from small children (which our dog used to bark at). We even can pass dogs on the sidewalk that our dog used to lose his mind at. He has completely stopped pulling and we can have guests over with minimal reaction from him. He frequently "checks in" with us on walks/anytime we encounter something that used to set him off.
I had seen many other reviews that mentioned changes in the dog after the first visit. I was skeptical because I thought our dog was so out of control, it would surely take a few visits to see an improvement. I was wrong- Tommy really has the magic touch that has helped our family immensely.

First visit taught us so much we did not know as first time dog owners. We are surprised at the immediate response.

All it took was one lesson with Pam and my horribly behaved dogs(Steve and Tony) were like brand new dogs. They used to jump all over me, bark at everything and everyone that went by in the window, they used to pull me down the street on the leash and now those are all behaviors of the past. It’s like I got two brand new dogs out of this and the methods they used were so dog friendly. Nothing that hurts or scares the dog. Money very well spent and I would recommend Bark Busters to anyone who needs help with their dog or dogs.
