Karen was a great help with Lily! We were amazed at how much Lily has learned during her first visit. We are continuing to do our homework daily and we look forward to our next visit! We always wanted to learn another language but we never dreamed it would be dog! 🐶

We didn't have high expectations for our first appointment because Taylor is like no other dog we've ever had.
PermalinkShe was mouthing me constantly and chewed on everything including the couch several times.
She barks out of fear at the slightest and silliest sounds like the neighbors talking in their own backyard, when the neighbor's pool sweep was running, and when any of our three neighbors rolled their garbage cans in/out. She is very protective of her home and her peeps.
Sarah was very thorough during the initial orientation. You could tell it was very well thought out and planned. She let us know exactly what to expect.
After the first visit with Sarah, we saw a huge improvement in all these areas by using her method to correct and redirect our dog.
We also had issues with leash pulling and Sarah worked with us on that. This is an area that we have to practice regularly with Taylor. When we do, you see improvement immediately. We just have to stay on top of it.
My husband and I are very grateful to know that we have Sarah on our team if we have any other issues or questions.

Willy is an (almost) 5 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who did not respect me as his mom/leader and everything was always on his terms. He dictated where we went on walks and when we would turn back home. He would not come back in the house from the yard without getting a treat. He also has crazy barking episodes in the yard. He would not let me put his leash on without a game of chase. He would get into my underwear (left on the bathroom floor) and would not give it up without getting aggressive/defensive.
PermalinkWilly is shy with strangers but he welcomed Kayla into our home with no problem. Kayla showed me how to address all of his issues and during our session we already saw great improvement and Willy's newfound respect for me. She was very detailed and honest about my expectations. She also provided good information on his diet.
The night after our session, I told Willy to "come" so that I could put his leash on and he came immediately and let me leash him up without his little games for the first time ever. He also started coming back inside from the yard without a treat for the first time immediately after our session. He has learned to "leave it" when I drop my underwear on the floor. He's a smart boy and I'm so glad Kayla has helped me show him I am the leader to improve our relationship and keep him more safe.

From our very first session with Ben at Bark Busters, we noticed an immediate improvement in our dogs' behavior. The progress has been slow but steady, which speaks to the lasting impact of Ben's training techniques. By applying the methods he taught us, we see significant behavioral improvements every time we work with our dogs. Thanks to Ben, not only are our dogs happier, but we also feel less stressed as pet owners. Damon is absolutely the best!!! He is the most patient and kind trainer. I was blown away by his knowledge of dog behavior and just watching how both of my girls responded to him. I felt completely at ease asking any questions that came up and trying all training techniques with him present. I have a 7 year old female mixed breed and just rescued a 2 year old chihuahua. The 7 year old has had some trouble adjusting to not being the only dog in the house. She is a bit jealous and the new rescue really hasn’t had any training. She was a barker, was partially potty trained and has really severe separation anxiety. I turned to Damon because I clearly needed help. It was amazing to see how both of my dogs responded to me without treats or punishment on the very first day of training. We are working on training daily and being consistent and it has made all the difference. The 2 yr old has not had a single accident in the house since our initial training session and she has gone to doggy daycare successfully! We are still working on barking, but she is MUCH better. Peace has returned to our house and it is great!! I couldn’t be more thankful and do not regret my choice at all!!

We had our training with Lydia, and even after the first session we saw a huge improvement. My husband and I had been dealing with a lot of issues that were very stressful when it came to leaving our dog Rose alone for any amount of time, and Lydia was able to teach us an easy technique for creating boundaries with Rose. As we've continued to work on the training on our own, and with several other session with Lydia, we have seen a vast difference in Rose's behavior. She is so much more comfortable, now, and she hasn't had any accidents on the floor since February! She is learning to listen to us when we need her to, and most importantly, we have seen a huge change in her separation anxiety, and anxiety overall.

We are all much happier and less stressed, now, and we are very appreciative of the help Lydia gave us in getting there. :)

Patrick Hickey was an answer to our prayer! He was patient taking all the time needed to educate, demonstrate, perform and practice the training exercises. The first session started with a thorough informative and educational discussion regarding communication with the dog. Very detailed handouts were included and have been most helpful. Our 4 year old rescue Doberman (in our care for 2 months) has been a delight with the major exception of leash pulling and a few other issues. After just the initial session with Patrick, our dog is much calmer overall. He will now walk beside us cooperatively and calmly. He is obedient to all commands and methods that were demonstrated and practiced in that first session. Regular, daily, and repetitive practice of the exercises was stressed with a daily checklist of the tasks provided. We have much to learn and practice; we are looking forward to doing it with Patrick's care and guidance. Thank you Bark Busters!

After the 1st session with Erin and our first day going thru all of the exercises with our dogs, we have seen a big difference. We can not wait to see what the future holds for our family with these two amazing pups. We are more responsible and the dogs are more relaxed. Seems like is was an us problem, not the dogs. I adopted my dog, Daisy, from a shelter, and for the first couple of weeks, we didn't have any issues. After she settled in, she began to lunge and bark at other dogs. I tried several different things on my own (no harness, harness, and gentle leader) and watched countless YouTube videos with very little if any progress being made.
PermalinkAfter over a year of this, I contacted Bark Busters since it wasn't improving and Daisy was now doing this to people on walks (and barking even more at guests in the house) as well. Chris P. was great when he first came out! He was nonjudgemental, made sure I understood everything, and helped give me back my confidence about walking Daisy. After the first meeting, the next day, we had an unfriendly interaction with another dog who had gotten away from its owner and ran-up on Daisy. It really set us sideways! Chris was great and answered my call that day when I asked for help on how to make her more comfortable and make sure I didn't reinforce any bad habits that she would develop after this interaction.
That bad interaction did set us back a bit, but after almost two months of following the training plan from Chris and four sessions with him, Daisy is lunging at about 1 of every 10 dogs she sees and has made significant progress with allowing people into the house. We can now even walk with dogs across the street from us which we hadn't been able to do since I first got her! Chris P. has made walking my dog fun again! I would highly recommend Bark Busters for anybody who has a reactive dog, is looking for long-term training help, and wants a training program that doesn't use negative reinforcers or constant treating to get the results.
