We rescued a dog from an overcrowded shelter that was picked up as a stray and transported here. I knew he would be a lot of work but had no idea to what degree. A few days after he arrived he started to bite his leash and show aggression during walks. He would bite his leash, jump up to try to bite me. It got to the point where I dreaded taking him outside (inside he was great). I thought about rehoming the dog. Enter Mariah. She was awesome! She showed me that I have to demonstrate leadership at all times. Inside the house, with meals, with exiting the door, etc. He was such a handful on walks and she managed to make all of it better! We worked on leash walking, getting the dog to focus (attentiveness training) and drop it, among other things. His behavior is so much better! Mariah was a lifesaver. She really does speak dog and really listened to my concerns. He is no longer biting or leash biting. We are still working on the pulling (he is a decent walker until he sees a squirrel or another dog), but I can say after just two sessions he is soooo much better. This is the beginning of our training and I already see real results. She also explained to me the breed I have really needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. She pointed me to a great dog park in the neighborhood and she's right - he is so much happier after a few hours of playing. Thank you so much Mariah and Bark Busters!

Mark's dog training expertise has truly transformed our relationship with our furry companion. His unique approach empowers us, as pet owners, to better comprehend our canine friends' perspectives. Through this understanding, we've been able to guide our dogs in harmonious cooperation rather than adversarial encounters.

Prior to enrolling in Mark's program, our dog Duncan posed several challenges. He exhibited erratic behavior during walks, reacted poorly to new people, and engaged in biting incidents. As he transitioned into adulthood, these issues became increasingly alarming. Even after investing in a 3-week boarding training program and traditional retail lessons, we saw only marginal improvements.

However, Mark's simple yet effective techniques have been a game-changer. After just one initial lesson, Duncan underwent a remarkable transformation. He now walks gracefully on the leash, refrains from barking or displaying aggression without reason, resists the urge to bolt out the front door, refrains from jumping, waits patiently at staircases until given the signal, responds promptly to recall commands, and has become an absolute delight to everyone he meets. He has blossomed into an absolute sweetheart.

We wholeheartedly endorse Mark's training program. Equipped with the knowledge we've gained, we feel confident in our ability to address and overcome any dog-related challenges that may arise. This training has undeniably improved our dog's behavior and our overall quality of life. If you want to transform your canine companion into a well-behaved and delightful friend, Mark's guidance is the way to go.

Photo of Otto We reached out to bark busters when Otto started new concerning behaviors. We worked with Mariah and she listened to all of our concerns. She addressed thing with Otto we did not even know we’re a problem. For example we were feeding Otto food that the vet recommended and never even considered the food to not be fulfilling Ottos needs. Otto had a lot of work to do to master walking, not barking at the garage door opening, and jumping on new people, but Mariah gave us the tips we needed! We cannot wait to see Otto succeed with training.

Photo of Otis, Tia, Seamus, Roxie,& Saydee I cannot say enough good things about Mariah and bark busters. They came into our lives when I was at my wits end. Our 2 male dogs were fighting very seriously ending up with 3 E V visits. I was given the tools to help me get us started on our way back to a healthy pack dynamic. I felt very confident that this was going to work and the dogs really responded to the training I was given. Unfortunately 3 weeks after our first visit I had to put my oldest (14) down. I lost confidence in myself and texted Mariah asking for help. She responded right away and we made an appointment for her to come back, see what was going on in the pack and help me get my confidence back. The dogs are responding very well to the tools and she gave me some great tips to help with our problem child Saydee (typical youngest). I can't thank Mariah and bark busters enough for getting my pack to best their best doggie selves.

We were searching for a trainer for our dog, Doc (almost 3 years), who we adopted from a rescue when he was about 2 months old. Doc was always anxious and hyper, which we attributed to him being a rescue. His anxiety was getting worse, and his behavior becoming aggressive and biting at times. As he was not like this all of the time, we believed we just did not have the knowledge to properly correct his behaviors, so we searched the web for dog trainers. After a lot of research, my daughter found Keith and Bark Busters on the internet. When Keith came for the first session, he told us we would see a different dog that day. I did not believe him. He proved me wrong. Keith provided clear and direct instruction of how to correct our commands and leadership, so we could properly train and correct Doc's behavior. He was here less than an hour, and we saw Doc become submissive from commands we did; prior to Keith coming we had never seen Doc be submissive in the 2.5 plus years we had him. He responds to us much better and he is walking on a leash much better. He is not great at taking long walks on a leash, but we can have him take shorter walks, with much improvement than before Keith came. They key is consistency and continued training, even if it is something small each day. Keith left us with a folder of different training and information, which is very helpful in remembering the steps in the processes. The Bark Busters pack leader philosophy was just what our Doc needed. Doc is much more calm and responsive, and we get much more enjoyment training him now. We are so grateful to Keith and Bark Busters!

Right away in our first session Jodie put us at ease and quickly noticed that my anxious GSD was training me instead of the other way around. With a few tools, I’m now in control and Appa is calmer and happier.

I am so glad that I called Bark Busters. My dog started barking at dogs when we moved to our new neighborhood, which made walking her very stressful for all of us. Ben explained why she was reactive and taught us how to communicate with her in a way that she immediately understood.

Within the first visit, we walked her and ran into her top nemesis without issue! We are so excited for what’s to come as we learn how to communicate with her more effectively and she becomes more and more calm. She is already so much calmer and happier.
My only regret is that I didn’t call sooner. I highly recommend Bark Busters and Ben. The methods are humane and effective.

    Trainer Note:
Thanks, Darlene. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family and so nice to be able to understand the reasons for Draco's behavioral issues. Once we figured out what was going on with him, the solution was easy.
He's a great dog and you are becoming an amazing pack leader.
    Everyone wins!
