Have a 4-year old lab/staffy mix who has gone through two trainers and a board & train. She would bark and charge at the door if she saw anything (sometimes when she just saw the wind blow), jump over the couch (and yes, over people sitting on the couch) to get to the door faster and pull so hard on her leash during walks. My husband was on the cusp of wanting her gone because we were about to have our first baby and we didn’t feel comfortable with her energy levels. He felt he had no control over her. I found Bark Busters through Google search and decided to reach out because I didn’t want to get rid of my dog. I thought, Third trainer’s a charm!
PermalinkAmanda is a great trainer and good people! My dog responds well to the training and she doesn’t run our household anymore. She still barks at the door and that’s fine because she isn’t as wired and bossy as she was 2 months ago AND doesn’t pull on walks anymore. But most importantly, she has been great with our one week old son. She listens more to us because we have established more leadership.
The homework Amanda gives you is very helpful and you’ll have access to those resources forever if you ever forget some steps. It’s also lovely how reachable she is for any questions or concerns you may have. I definitely feel that my dog is being taken care of.

Training went very well, very surprised how well Callie picked up on the training. Very Happy with the results we got in just 1 day. Josh training sessions are not only effective but also enjoyable. His passion for dogs is evident, and he imparts knowledge with enthusiasm.

the lovely ladies with bark busters have been absolute life-savers for us. we contacted them when we started having issues with nuisance barking, territorial issues, and basic lack of control over our little loves. betty lou and rachel came to our home, and we expected they would train our dogs. nope. they actually trained us! we learned so many useful techniques that we were able to utilize with our dogs on a daily basis. they came for another visit, and we started seeing amazing progress with our dogs. betty lou and rachel are geniuses. the best part is that you get a sort of “lifetime guarantee” with their service. betty lou and rachel have been available for us any time (a lot of times 😆) when we experienced new problems, had specific questions, or decided to adopt our third dog. this training really helps you give yourself and your dogs a more positive, more structured environment. i still cannot believe the progress they’ve helped us make! their training is worth every penny. i cannot recommend them enough.

I recently did training with Kyle for my bulldog Dolly, and it was the best decision I’ve made for my dog! My mom found out about him through a radio interview on WRVA, and I’m so glad she was listening at that time. Kyle was great from the start - before I even booked him, he agreed to have a phone call with me to talk about the process and answer my questions. My bulldog was having some issues with other dogs and thinking she had to protect me, and barking at dogs or people through the glass door. After just the first session with Kyle, I started to see a change in her behavior. Kyle helped me to teach Dolly that I’m the one in charge and don’t need her to protect me all the time. Since our sessions, she’s become a happier dog - she's not stressed or worried all the time about having to protect me, and she’s able to just be a dog. Kyle was great with dolly, he’s an amazing dog trainer, and more than that he’s just a great person. I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer to help their dog have a happier life!
