Welcome to Bark Busters in Minneapolis West. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. My name is Jean Atwood and I am a Master Dog Behavior Therapist and Trainer with Bark Busters Home Dog Training. For the past 18 years it has been my pleasure and privilege to work with over 3,000 dogs and their owners in the Minneapolis area for the purpose of helping them to live together in peace and harmony. I will work with any dog, any age, any issue (even puppies ten weeks and older)!
We all want a happy and well behaved dog and my goal is to help you achieve that. Our unique method of training is based on the way that dogs naturally communicate with each other in a pack. I will help you understand how your dog sees the world and how your dog is trying to communicate with you. Our methods are dog friendly using voice tones and body language to help guide your dog to desired behaviors. I help my clients learn to think, act, and speak like a dog so they will understand what you are trying to tell them!
Many dog training programs rely on treat training, shock collars, or harsh methods. At Minneapolis West Bark Busters I’ll teach you how to the “Leader of the Pack” in a way that makes sense to them. My goal if for your dog to respect you, not fear you.
Most people I work with see a difference in the way their dog responds to them after the first session! The training can be fun for both you and your dog and help you strengthen your bond of love, trust, and respect. I will be there to coach you through the learning process. May of my clients have come to me after other training methods have failed. Please don’t give up on your dog without working with me first. Our mission at Bark Busters Home Dog Training is to save as many dogs as possible from abuse, abandonment, or euthanasia.

Our dog behavior training method is based on what dogs already know:canine communication and pack law. We help you to understand where your dog is coming from so you can communicate with them in a "Canine way" rather than a "Human way". Because of this, most dogs respond much more quickly to Bark Busters obedience techniques than to other training methods. It's not only humane and effective; it's fun for you and your dog! We believe we can help any dog at any age, with any problem (even pit bulls, rottweilers, and rescue dogs).
