I recently hired John of Bark Busters in Naples because I was seeking guidance in training my spirited “hard headed “ 4-year-old Red Nose Pit Bull.

One of the most striking aspects of John's training methodology is his emphasis on "being the leader of the pack" and adopting a mindset of "thinking dog." Rather than relying on harsh or punitive measures, or inundating Darcy with treats, John prioritizes the establishment of a strong bond of trust and respect between owner and dog.. He recognized that Darcy thrived on structure and consistency, and he devised a training plan that aligned with her temperament and personality. By using games, interactive exercises, and real-life scenarios, John made learning both Fun and rewarding for both Darcy and me. I am happy to say that I actually enjoy walking my dog now and my family and friends are not drenched with kisses anymore. LOL
The results of John's training approach speak volumes! John prioritizes positive reinforcement and fosters a bond between owner and dog. He has a compassionate approach and commitment to empowering both canine and human clients which set’s him apart as a true leader in the field of dog training.

Don't walk, run to work with Bark Busters. Please read my review if you relate to any crate-anxiety issues.

Here's my story: I have a puppy GSD who's shockingly lazy, but his shepherdation (separation) anxiety was really out of control to the point where he could break out of his crate AND open my front door.

I would describe myself as highly dog knowledgable so I am VERY particular about the methods used by trainers. To each their own, but e-collars, prongs, etc are band-aids (or worseners) for most problems since most dog-owners don't really understand the timing/utility of these tools enough to ween off of them at any point. If your dog is a 100/10 lunatic, then I guess I get it :|

Anywho, I was honestly shocked to learn they don't even rely on clickers or treats, just straight up dog behavior and psychology, yet have the reviews they have.

Here's my summary. I am only 2 days post training, have received a comprehensive training plan with new crate recs, have gotten 5-7 minutes of a CALM dog in his crate once I've left (a miracle), and did nothing but learn to amend MY body languages and sounds.

Bonus that Anthony was an absolute delight to work with.

Hire them - you're welcome in advance ;)

Dan is amazing. We have a lovely 3 year old rescue who is great with people but had a lot of leash aggression issues. Every time we would walk by another dog, she would start snarling. It got to a point where we felt like we were apologizing to other people more than we were actually walking.

We contacted Dan and described the situation. He took the challenge and we scheduled a time for an in-home visit. After just 2 hours, we felt like we had a different dog. She behaves on walks now, often ignoring other dogs. Granted we are still doing a lot of work to keep everyone in check, but Dan's tips and guidance put us on the right path.

We are now continuing to work on other training - respecting the door, walking at heel, etc - and feel like we're going to continue to make huge progress.

Our only regret is not contacting Bark Busters sooner. We can't recommend Dan enough.

I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed meeting Karen, Angel’s trainer. She was very professional and ready to solve Angel’s issues. I was amazed at Karen’s ability to connect with Angel and how quickly Angel responded. I desperately need Bark Busters help and have a positive attitude about Karen to be able to answer all of my questions to insure a special relationship between me and Angel.

Photo of Arya, Darcy, & Primrose We have three dogs each needs work on different behaviors from a very timid to food aggression. We have completed traditional obedience training(sit, stay, come, heel, etc). The dogs did well but this type of training did not addresses some of the behavior issues. Amber came n and observed the dogs and all the family members so we could address the issues with all the dogs and family members. We were able to come up with a plan. The first stage of training is going well. There will be home work. It is easy and works well.
