James is an amazing trainer, and I can't recommend him enough!

I have a very challenging Border Collie named Bella, and taking her for a walk used to be incredibly stressful. Every time we encountered another dog, I had to stop and use all my strength to hold her back.

In just one session, James gave me the tools I needed to better understand Bella's body language and recognize when she needed a "reset." He taught me how to help Bella focus on me, engage her mentally, and build a stronger connection between us.

We just started our puppy program with Jeri, and already we are seeing such a huge difference in both Roxy’s behavior as well as our confidence in managing her! As new puppy parents, we didn’t realize how clueless we would feel. A big part of what got us through our first week was knowing we had our session scheduled with Jeri, and it was even more valuable than we anticipated. We’ve been able to reduce Roxy’s biting and chewing in this teething phase, which is making her much more fun to be around. If you’re struggling with a dog with severe separation anxiety, I highly recommend Justin.

My puppy Gus, had extreme separation anxiety, would bark nonstop pretty much the moment he was in the crate until I let him out. I used vibrating collars, left my workout clothes in his crate, bought high-value treats, tried a citronella collar, and eventually a shock collar but nothing made a difference.

After only about five training sessions with Justin, the transformation has been incredible. Gus is now able to stay home calmly while I’m away, and Im not stressing that he’s panicking, barking nonstop, or upsetting the neighbors.

I really like that Justin’s approach was effective, practical, and tailored to Gus’s specific needs. No need for constant treat reinforcement. My husband had wanted me to get help for our male standard poodle for a long time. Mainly Rocket Man (Rocky) had incredible leash reactivity, among other issues. I have 2 Standard Poodles, mother and son. Haley is my service dog and will be retiring as soon as Rocky can take her place. But I was afraid I would have to "wash" him because of his reactivity. James returned my call and spent probably an hour on the phone with me. We arranged the initial meeting and it was love at first sight! by all of us.
Within the first meeting, he had already changed Rocky's behavior and we couldn't believe it...but it was wonderful. We are still working with James as our journey was delayed due to a serious health diagnosis for my husband (all well now) and me breaking my leg. During all of this, he was responsive, caring, patient and helped us stay on track. Recently he was on vacation out of the country, and still answered all of my questions.
I read the reviews here and agree with all the good things that were said.
In parting I will say that recently our dog walker was approached by a man with a wild
goldie-doodle who wanted to know how he had trained Rocky so well. What a turn- around in just a few months!

We sought out a dog trainer once we got our 2 year old Rescue Lab. We were looking for someone who could come into the home and work directly with our family members. "Josie" has some anxiety/separation issues and pretty high energy we didn't really know how to channel. James from Bark Busters came straight in and got to work. Learning the basic methodology of training has been a game changer! He taught us how to correct with our voices as well as gave us actually tools to use in conjunction with the correction. As with most things, it is about consistency and we have been fortunate to have James available to us as needed for when Josie starts to exhibit other behaviors or we start to "forget" what we are supposed to do! I am so happy that Mason was able to come out to my home and train my dog. And not only train my dog, but also train me on how to teach him not to pull on the leash. And also to teach my dog on how to jump into my car. Before Mason, I would always have to pick up my dog to put him into my car. My dog is a Siberian Husky, so he is a medium size dog. He isn’t heavy at all, he weights about 47.8 pounds. But I don’t want to pick him up and always put him into my car for the rest of his live. Now he is jumping up and down in my car and it’s all thanks to Mason!

Working with Andy and the results we saw with our dog during the first few hours of training have far exceeded our expectations. On Day 1, Andy very clearly articulated his training methodology and philosophy, answered all our questions, and really taught us how we should interact with our dog. Rocket was a handful to say the least and I was honestly concerned he was going to get some kid on a bike hurt lunging and barking or attack a jogger so I called. Justin has been amazing and now walking my boy has become the highlight of my crazy day. I literally saw huge progress in the first session, and Justin is amazing at following up and working on reinforcing, other issues, new situations like a recent road trip vacation with other dogs. I honestly never expected to see this level of improvement and thought it would take months to do what I saw in hours.

I amount of appreciation and respect I have for Justine is on another level. Not only did she have patience for my 1 year old (now 2yr old) female German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix (Harley), but she also had patience for me. She was constantly reassuring me that I was doing great. If I did not understand what she was telling me, she would gladly explain it another way. With her, you automatically feel like she is rooting for you to succeed.

I spent a lot of time and energy practicing what Justine taught me and it 100% paid off. Harley was a psycho one year old dog that I adopted from the shelter in May 2025; I started Bark Busters in Aug/Sept 2025. Fast forward to July 2026 and Harley is a completely different dog.

We trained on leash walking (the most important for me), recall, and various other things. Justine is extremely supportive of the fact that I want Harley to learn more things.

If it wasn’t for Justine, I have no idea where Harley would be today. Everyone praises Harley for being a good girl, but I always tell them who helped me with her. Thank you Justine!

Do not waste your time or money on other training services; get Mark scheduled as quickly as possible! It will be the best thing you ever do for you and your dog! We cannot say enough great things about Mark and Bark Busters! We cannot recommend him enough. The amount of positive behavior change we saw immediately was almost unbelievable. We have an 8-month-old boxer puppy, he is our 3rd boxer, so we were well prepared for the high energy and constant goofiness that comes with a boxer. We weren't prepared for dominant behavior as we had not experienced this with our other dogs. Jumping up, nipping, counter and table surfing, barking uncontrollably, not listening, etc., we were dealing with it all. We tried to take him to other puppy classes with extremely minimal results over weeks of training. Mark's approach and methods are simple yet extremely effective. After his initial visit, we saw drastic changes in our puppy's behavior. Our puppy has stopped jumping up on us, there is no nipping, no leash pulling, his dominant tendencies and shows of aggression are gone, and he has gained a great deal of independence! (This is after a few hours with Mark and just a few days of following his plan!) Mark left us with a training plan to follow that was very clear and straightforward, along with the tools we needed to work with our puppy. Do the work he says and you will see the results. Our puppy is still his goofy boxer self, but with a new found respect for us! Our only regret is wasting time and money on other trainers before calling Mark.

We started fostering a small dog Django, who is 4-years-old and came from an undisciplined home. He was out of control, constantly barking at any noise, gnawing on hands, non-stop antics, invading personal space. I couldn’t get any work done. I was a day away from sending him back, but we wanted to try training first. Ryan and Bark Busters were amazing. We had his worst negative behaviors adjusted within an hour. When I first met Kyle, I had recently lost my beloved dog, Primrose, and was fostering a 1-year-old German Shepherd named Dash while also raising my 16-week-old puppy, Aurora. I truly wanted to make Dash a permanent member of our family, and I tried everything I could to help him succeed. I would give Scot a million stars if I could. We had our first session with him today and I am already seeing a huge difference in my dog. We initially reached out to Scot for assistance in nipping behavior with our dog and he truly helped us dive deeper into why he is making the choice to do that. He helped us to understand how our dog thinks and taught us multiple exercises to start teaching him that we could guide him in making decisions and start to take control back from him. Although he was stern with the exercises he kept the session fun and made sure to give us and our dog reassurances that no one is perfect but that we can work with our dog to reach a desired outcome with lots of practice and dedication to working with him. As someone who has used other trainers before and couldn’t get the issue addressed, I could not recommend Scot enough. He doesn’t just address the issue, he addresses the root and reasoning behind the issue and helps you to see ways to prevent your dog from even thinking about doing the undesired behaviors.
