How It Works

Training Takes Place in Your Home

When Bark Busters dog trainers conduct dog and puppy training in your home, they will assess your current household dynamics and how they influence your dog’s behaviors. After making any necessary adjustments to the environment, your dog trainer will then teach you communication methods that will help fulfill your dog’s desire for leadership with confidence and ease. Bark Busters’ natural, compassionate, and dog-friendly methods are proven effective for any breed, age, or issue.

The Importance of Leadership

Dogs have an innate need for social structure and pack security – in short, they crave leadership, because a leader ensures that their basic needs to feel safe and secure will be met. The Bark Busters method empowers pet parents to fulfill this leadership role with compassion, not force or coercion, via consistent use of a few straightforward techniques that build trust and respect between dog and human.

Simple, Natural, and Effective

Bark Busters’ natural techniques leverage the same communication methods, body language, and voice control that dogs instinctively follow, helping reinforce and strengthen the emotional bond between you and your dog. The Bark Busters training approach is backed by 30 years of proven results, helping owners lead with compassion in as little as two hours – all without treats or the need for harsh punishment. In the first session, most of our clients see dramatic improvements in their dog’s behavior.

Why Home Dog Training?

Dogs learn best in a familiar, safe environment free of outside distractions and disruptions. That's why our trainers come directly to your home, on your schedule, to build an effective foundation for better dog behavior one-on-one. We partner with you to address your dog behavior issues in the locations where they occur, which means faster, longer-lasting solutions for you and your dog. After learning in your home, our trainers will work with you and your dog outside or around real distractions as needed.

A Humane, Natural Dog Training Approach

Every dog is different, so we vary our approach based on each dog's personality and temperament, as well as each family's specific needs and lifestyle, the dog's environment, and what YOU, the pet parent, do or do not want from your dog.

Our positive dog training methods are pain-free, treat-free, and clicker-free. We DO NOT use shock collars, spray collars, or pronged collars.

What is Included in Bark Busters Home Dog Training?

Bark Busters trainers are committed to solving your dog's behavioral issues. If you choose our Gold Service, which includes our Life of Dog Support Guarantee, we charge a one-time fee for your initial lesson, which also covers follow-up visits until you achieve your goals with your dog. We are here to help and will return if new problems arise or old ones resurface.

The first training session will take up to 2-3 hours. Following the first session, you will continue to build the relationship between you and your dog by practicing for 10-15 minutes a day to reinforce your dog's newly learned behavior.
