Scot worked with us to help train our 11 month old rescue dog. He was kind and patient and gave us informative and thoughtful advice. Willing to answer our many questions and offer helpful advice. We left feeling more confident that we can better handle our dog.

I would give Scot a million stars if I could. We had our first session with him today and I am already seeing a huge difference in my dog. We initially reached out to Scot for assistance in nipping behavior with our dog and he truly helped us dive deeper into why he is making the choice to do that. He helped us to understand how our dog thinks and taught us multiple exercises to start teaching him that we could guide him in making decisions and start to take control back from him. Although he was stern with the exercises he kept the session fun and made sure to give us and our dog reassurances that no one is perfect but that we can work with our dog to reach a desired outcome with lots of practice and dedication to working with him. As someone who has used other trainers before and couldn’t get the issue addressed, I could not recommend Scot enough. He doesn’t just address the issue, he addresses the root and reasoning behind the issue and helps you to see ways to prevent your dog from even thinking about doing the undesired behaviors.

Mark came out to our house to work with us and our two pups. He was able to teach us how to communicate effectively with them both. It immediately started to change how the dogs acted. He also provided several techniques to help in many different situations to help us be more in control.

We had an excellent experience with Johnnie Jumper from Bark Busters! Charlie had a habit of excessive barking, and we were struggling to get his attention when he became distracted. I was ready to move out with Charlie from the house we had just bought with my mother-in-law because his barking was driving her crazy. Johnnie was patient, knowledgeable, and explained everything in a way that was easy for us to understand and practice at home.
PermalinkThe results were noticeable right away. Charlie learned to stop excessive barking, respond consistently to the "leave it" command, and the "place" command has been a game changer for helping him stay calm and settled when guests come over or when things get busy around the house, especially at the door and in front of the house. Charlie is also now comfortable riding in a car with us going places, when before he was a shaky mess. Johnny also supported us through Charlie’s picky eating. I have been able to contact Johnny with numerous questions, and he always responds with helpful advice. Best of all, we are covered for anything that comes up with Charlie for the rest of his life.
What we appreciated most was that Johnnie didn't just train Charlie—he taught us how to communicate with and lead our dog confidently. His guidance gave us the tools to continue reinforcing the training, and we've seen a huge improvement in Charlie's behavior.
We highly recommend Johnnie Jumper and Bark Busters to anyone looking for professional, effective dog training. Thank you for helping Charlie become a happier, calmer, and better-behaved member of our family! Happy to report I don’t have to move out of my home because of my dog's excessive barking! Thank you so much Bark Busters!

If you are looking for a knowledgeable "dog whisperer" then Tommy is your man! My dog is pretty big and really needed correction on who was the boss of the house. Tommy equipped me with the tools to do that. He taught me to change the structure of my relationship with my pup and create a safe space for us both. Tommy provided me with 3 hours hands-on training, follow-up emails to check on how things are going and offered to come back and help when things aren't going to plan. He is very professional and his hand-outs reinforced the training.
PermalinkHe made an unsettled house into a calm home and I can't believe that implementing these simple techniques would have such a positive outcome. Monty used to be awake the entire day, but is sleeping a lot more now. He gives me eye contact more frequently too. I am so proud of him!

PermalinkWe focused on leash reactivity and door rushing with my three dogs, and Jared the trainer was fantastic. He gave clear, practical tools that I could immediately start using, and I already feel more confident managing situations that used to feel overwhelming.
What I especially appreciated was how calm, supportive, and non-judgmental the whole session felt. It wasn’t just about the dogs—it helped me feel more in control and capable as well. Because it's not the dogs it is me who needs the training so I can communicate more effectively to my pups and he helped me do exactly that.
If you’re on the fence, I can honestly say this training works—and the ongoing support makes it worth every bit!!

My dog, Philly is a reactive, timid, anxious dog. Brandon has done an amazing job or showing me techniques to correct his behavior and helpful tips to keep him occupied while we’re not home. Would definitely recommend him!!

If you're struggling with a dog with serious behavioral issues, I can't recommend James at Bark Busters Home Dog Training – North County San Diego highly enough.
PermalinkOur female Standard Poodle, Chloe, had developed a strong protective fixation on me — and I mean strong. She would aggressively challenge anyone who came near me: my wife, my kids, my grandkids, and strangers we'd encounter on neighborhood walks. It had gotten to the point where it was genuinely stressful and potentially unsafe.
What I appreciated most about James is that he doesn't just train your dog — he trains you. He took the time to understand Chloe's behavior, explain the "why" behind it, and then coach me on exactly how to respond in the moment. He also outfitted Chloe with a different leash arrangement, and the effect was immediate and honestly a little stunning — within the first session, maybe an hour in, we were seeing dramatic changes. No more fish-on-a-line chaos. She stayed right by my side, needed very little correction, and her aggression was addressed quickly with a consistent, proactive approach.
The transformation has been remarkable. Chloe is still her wonderful, loyal self — but now she's calm and confident rather than reactive and tense. Instead of lunging first and asking questions never, she looks to me for signals before reacting. Our walks are enjoyable again, and our whole family can be around her without any worry.
One session. One hour. James is patient, knowledgeable, and clearly knows exactly what he's doing. Worth every penny.
