AMAZING doesn’t adequately describe the service I received from Heather. After one visit my English Setter was no longer pulling and making our walks difficult. We are taking in an Australian Shepherd, and Heather is making this transition go better than I ever dreamed it would. Sharon did an outstanding job with our toy poodle Franny and mini labradoodle Lola! Franny has terrible separation anxiety and Lola barks at every unfamiliar animal/person she sees. Both showed improvements within the first HOUR of training. Sharon was thorough, provided extensive education and written notes, and is extremely passionate about helping you and your dogs! I would HIGHLY recommend Sharon. Thanks again!!!

We live in Calaveras County. On 21 January 2025 we adopted Stella—a 50 pound, 10-month-old Standard Poodle from a Local Animal Shelter.
PermalinkShe had several different homes in 10 months and, although very sweet, she came with an uncontrolled wild level of activity and a large collection of fears from canes to hats and aluminum foil—to name just a few.
We tried professional dog training programs from two different training organizations with no real progress until we searched for in-home dog training and found Bark Busters. Bark Busters put us in contact with Sarah Harrington and we made an appointment for her to come to the house to evaluate Stella. We agreed to the program (there was no obligation) and she started work with Stella immediately.
Prior to Sarah, Stella was uncontrolled on a leash; never came when called; was always underfoot in the house; and there was no predicting the onset of a high energy canine panic attack with resultant chaos. After Sarah’s first visit, Stella was controlled on leash and began to respond to commands “sit” and “come”.
Over the months since Sarah’s first visit, she has been to our home multiple times (whenever we call, she comes). Stella is now a perfect lady on leash, sitting and staying when commanded. She waits patiently by open doors until invited in; comes when called 80% of the time (working on that); and is no longer afraid of canes or aluminum foil—although a few phobias remain. Most recently, Stella developed unusual skill at counter surfing and Sarah prescribed and demonstrated techniques to control that behavior and for Stella to remain out of the kitchen unless invited (80% success; we continue to work on that).
Sarah’s work with us (we, of course, are the main training challenge) and Stella has been nothing but miraculous. Stella has gone from an uncontrolled, fearful dog to a loving and mostly obedient companion—thanks to Sarah. We have more work to do with Stella but Sarah has been and is always willing to come on our request to reinforce, train and suggest continuing improvement in us and Stella. We can heartily recommend Bark Busters and Sarah to anyone who needs in-home dog training.

My biggest fear of Chewie running into the street after cars is fading thanks to Holly! Holly has helped us so much with Chewie, Han, and Nora and all their personalities. Han and Chewie can be crazy, but Holly is extremely patient and knowledgeable on how to put them at ease. We’re learning so much about WHY they were behaving the way they were and how we can mitigate barking, pulling, and alleviate sibling rivalry. Thankful my husband found Holly and Bark Busters so our pups can have the best life!

Holly gave me some fresh advice that was extremely helpful with my two dogs. I've spent a lot of time and money with other trainers and we weren't addressing the correct issues, or even the correctly managing the "problem" dog! I have to say that Bark Busters' technique is different, yet it's simple and more importantly it works! I can't wait for our next session to further advance our training! I would highly recommend Bark Busters to anyone having any issue at all with their beloved dog(s)!

We have had dog trainers in the past that have not really helped with our dog's aggressive behavior. I was doubtful that yet another trainer could assist. I was completely wrong! In fact, within the first 40 minutes I could see a huge difference. Holly basically let us know that our 8 year old lab has been in charge. She provided us concrete examples of how to let our dog know WE are in charge. I noticed a change immediately. It is going to take continued effort for myself and my wife to change as well. Looking forward to having Holly back here next week to check up on our progress. I am no longer Ebenezer Scrooge "Bah! Humbug!" - I simply dropped the Humbug portion.. Simply Bah! Elated in Marietta. You Rock Holly!!
