I can't say enough about working with Ryanne and Bark Busters. We have a 1 1/2 yr old and 8 yr old dogs and I contacted Bark Busters to help with overall listening, recall, walking on leash, greeting people at the door etc. I had tried other trainings like boot camps, in person training and in home training and nothing really stuck. From the very first visit, everything changed. The approach you are trained on was a game changer for me. It gave me the understanding of dog behavior that I needed, and immediately made me more confident. The follow on visits were SO helpful and were completely tailored to my dogs, their personalities and the dynamics of our household and of their relationship. I greatly appreciated Ryanne's follow up messages in between visits and her tips for things to try in the meantime. At one point, I felt like the leash training wasn't working and wanted to throw in the towel and try something else - but Ryanne gave me some videos to watch and made sure we got it figured out on the next visit. My dogs - especially the puppy -are different dogs and I have a totally different perspective on how to establish a positive training relationship with them. While not everything is perfect, I don't give up or get discouraged, we just keep working on things. I also love that the training is for the life of the dog - knowing that I'm not "starting over" if I have them come back to help with something is a huge benefit and means I'll be more likely to take advantage of it. Don't waste your time with other methods - working with Ryanne is the only way to go!!

We had our first session with Omar and are already seeing huge results with “front door manners” in both our dogs! Can’t wait to see what comes next. Thanks Omar!

Omar came to our home for our sweet 7 month old golden retriever, Oskar - more than anything, we needed to understand how to teach him manners and establish boundaries, and after one session we have already noticed a change. Just a few new tools have been huge for him, and the homework is really helpful to give us a clear path forward.
PermalinkWe would absolutely recommend these folks to anybody who wants a well behaved pup!

Our dog, Bernie, is almost 5 years old and was out of control. Barking, not coming when called, pulling us over when we walked him and being leash aggressive. (Yikes!). We decided to get serious about Bernie's behavior and inquired about Bark Busters. We had other family dogs that were easy to live with, but we were considering re-homing Bernie if things didn't get better. We decided to work with Bark Busters.
PermalinkOur trainer, Ryanne has taught us many strategies to address Bernie's issues and the results have been incredible! We found that the humans in the family needed to be trained to help Bernie become a more pleasant family dog. Having Ryanne work with us, in our home and focusing only on Bernie has made all the difference. We purchased a plan that allows us to call Ryanne anytime throughout the year! Best investment if your dog's behavior is not what you'd like it to be.
Highly recommend!!
Your commitment to Bernie has made all the difference, and I’m so glad you gave him the chance to succeed. Looking forward to continuing to support you whenever you need it!
Warmly,
Ryanne

Before we met Ryanne. We were having a difficult time. We were trying to merge 2 packs into one. My mother-in-law and her dog Has moved in with us. The first few weeks went really well . Then all of a sudden the dogs decided that things weren't working right.
PermalinkWe started having issues river was correcting bandit. Bandit didn't want anybody by my mother-in-law. These things were starting to get beyond our control. We were very concerned about where this was headed.
But then we were introduced to this company and to Ryanne. And just a matter of a few months the dogs are doing much better. She trained us the people first taught us how to become the alphas in our packs. How to become one pack not 2. Showing the dogs we could protect ourselves we were in charge we could control things so that they could relax and just be dogs.
I have not seen these dogs be so calm and relaxed ever in my life. Things are going so great now the dogs get along .We are just one big happy pack now. Behaviors now that we've never seen before like our dogs are going into the kennels on their own just to sleep and relax they're not being told to. They dont pull on the leashes as we go for walks like they used to. The barking is more under control.
They just lay on the floor and they don't get into disagreements as they once did.
Ryanne Has been a true blessing and how everything is turned around and just it's amazing the dogs are getting along and we don't have to worry about how things are going to progress anymore. thank you so much for all you have done to help us the people understand how to communicate with our dogs and we just really appreciate you so so very much.
We cant thank you enough.
Seeing the dogs calmer, more relaxed, and living together as one happy pack is exactly what we want for every family. I’m grateful to have been a part of your journey and so proud of all the effort you’ve put in. Thank you for trusting me to help—give the pups some extra belly rubs from me!

We adopted a German shepherd, Milo, who had been attacked when he was a puppy.
PermalinkHe was reactive to other dogs, and didn’t like people in his space.
We began working with Randy last year, and the change we have seen in Milo is incredible.
Randy gave us the tools we needed to change Milo’s demeanor from a scared dog, to a confident dog. Thanks to Randy we have a closer bond with Milo, and I can trust him around other people and dogs.
Eternally grateful to Randy!

Gusty has completely transformed both my life and my dog Benny's--after just two sessions.
PermalinkBenny is a one-year-old mixed-breed rescue who had experienced significant trauma before I adopted him. When we started working with Gusty, we were dealing with several behavioral challenges: barking and biting, leash reactivity, and difficulty adjusting to my two resident cats--whom Benny felt the need to "protect" me from. He was also very territorial on walks, often lunging and snapping at anyone with an unusual appearance--people in big jackets, those with a unique gait, or wearing medical masks. He even reacted to other dogs wearing sweaters. On top of that, he had a habit of scavenging and displayed food aggression.
Gusty not only helped me see that Benny is an incredibly intelligent dog, but also gave me the tools and structure to bring out the best in him. With just a few consistent rules, Benny has blossomed into a calm, focused, and eager-to-learn companion. Thanks to Gusty's guidance:
- Benny no longer barks at people passing our apartment.
- He's calm and responsive on leash--no more lunging.
- He sits at crosswalks, comes when called, and no longer demands attention by barking.
- I no longer need to rely on endless chew toys or treats to keep him occupied.
- He drops trash when asked and responds beautifully to direction.
- Most importantly, our bond has grown stronger than ever.
While he still occasionally reacts to the cats' presence, he is MUCH calmer, only barks and them once or twice and then immediately goes to lay down after I tell him to. The fact that he can disengage from something that once distracted him so totally that I was concerned about his safety and the cats is actually incredible.
With Gusty's encouragement, I'm now excited to take things further--we're starting agility training, and I'm working on getting Benny comfortable in busier environments with the goal of certifying him as an emotional support animal so he can eventually travel with me.
Thank you, Gusty and the Bark Busters team! Your dedication to educating dog owners is inspiring, and the results speak for themselves. This has been one of the best investments I've ever made.

Wow - Gusty is truly an incredible trainer and we saw significant improvements in our dog's behavior after just 1 session. My husband was hesitant about Bark Busters since we have tried so many different techniques with moderate success. But after Gusty left our house, my husband said "That was AMAZING!". We have a 3 year old pitbull (Moo) who is super smart and trainable, but we struggle to redirect her barking when guests come over/people come in our yard, she jumps on guests, and she has some leash reactivity. Gusty immediately tuned into Moo's needs and established her role as a trainer - truly training my husband and I to better train/support our dog. Using the Bark Busters harness, Moo is walking right next to us and is much calmer on walks. She is also responding well to respecting the front door as a "no go zone" and relaxing after she's notified us that there is a visitor. I highly recommend Gusty - we wish we would have found her years ago!!

Andy is a great trainer, He taught me how to better communicate with my puppy, He helped me get him started on being trained for home, He discussed a few things I could do to keep the pups attention. He wrote and gave me some homework that I could work on daily with the pup. No surprises when you get Andy you’re and your pup are in for a treat. I learned so much about communication with my pup.I look forward to learning more. I’m grateful that Andy took the time to teach me.
