Ben was amazing! I was SHOCKED at how quickly my Australian Shepherd (Tucker) responded to the suggested interventions. Ben was also training me as much as he was training Tucker, which is necessary. This is basically cognitive behavioral therapy for dogs. I appreciate that there’s no pain or food rewards as part of this process. I am confident my cat and dog will ultimately be able to cohabitate. Highly recommend!
When I tell you this was absolutely life changing. I have a 80lbs Bernedoodle and 4lb Maltipoo and they have drastically improved. My home is so much calmer and peaceful. You don’t need a fancy dog whisperer or expensive devices, you need simple straightforward ways to communicate with your pet. I’m so happy, my family is happy, and our pets are happy too. Just one visit will change your life.
We had an amazing experience with Bark Busters and their trainer Ben Miller. Our 8 year old beagle has been having some leash aggression issues and we were not sure what to do after so many attempts to correct the behavior ourselves.
Ben first spent time with us giving us background information about the type of training we would be doing so that we would really grasp the concepts once we began working on them with our dog. In just the first exercise, we could see a response from our dog. It has only been a couple of days since the training and we are already seeing such a significant difference in our dogs behavior. Before this training, I was skeptical about any dog behaviorist making a difference especially since our dog is 8 years old. Now I am a firm believer. We now feel like we have the tools to keep our dog (and any dogs we have in the future) safe, happy, and out of trouble. What I particularly appreciated about the approach from Bark Busters is that we do not have to use shock collars or physical discipline to correct behavior. If you are having behavior issues with your dog, I fully recommend giving Bark Busters a chance and making the investment in your dog (and yourself).
Ben at Bark Busters is absolutely amazing and made our lives much less stressful for us and our dog Mika. We adopted a sweet lab mix who came with some quirks. She has a lot of energy and will play all day long if she could which would result in her barking incessantly at us until we would play fetch (even if we have already played for hours). Additionally, we had issues with her rushing the door while barking and jumping up on guests.
Lastly, Mika struggled greatly while walking on the leash. Although she is super friendly with dogs at daycare and other instances off the leash, if she saw or heard a dog within a 100 yards of us, she would pull, bark, lunge, and alligator roll on the end of the leash. Not only was this extremely embarrassing, but it is incredibly tiring to walk a dog who makes you feel like Steve Erwin capturing a wild alligator every time we see another dog.
We tried many training tactics including trying to distract her with her favorite human food and nothing was working. At this point, I found Bark Busters and I am so glad I did. Ben came to our home and spent 3 hours explaining how and why the methods taught at Bark Busters works along with training us how to communicate with Mika. Ben showed us a few simple commands, not 20 different commands to memorize and make sure you are doing right.
The results were immediate and lasting. Our first training session was three months ago and Mika is so much more relaxed and well behaved in the house. No more incessant barking to play and rushing the door to bark at and jump on guests. She is the same sweet Mika that loves to play and get love from everyone, but now she is more relaxed and waits for permission from us. Even skeptical family members were extremely impressed with the results of Mika's training.
A few weeks later, we had a second session with Ben to work on walking on the leash. Although Mika is not perfect on the leash quite yet, we have made so much improvement and we are still getting better! We are now at the point where Mika will make a lot of stressful noises and pull some while walking past another barking dog, but she is no longer alligator rolling and lunging like crazy while making scary barking noises. She also goes back to being relaxed so quickly instead of barking for ages after the other dog is gone. We are so proud of her continuing improvement on the leash.
Lastly, but most importantly, all of Ben's training methods deal with proper communication and not scaring or hurting dogs. No shock collars, or choke chains, just clear communication. Our only regret was not calling Bark Busters sooner, so if you are on the fence just do it. It is worth increasing the quality of life for you and your dog.
Ben did a great job explaining how dog’s think. The training techniques he taught us worked! Our 2.5 year old golden doodle responded instantly. Thank you. Looking forward to continuing to work with you.
Ben is absolutely great to work with! We felt so comfortable and confident in our first training session with him! We know our dog Kobe, has a bright future ahead thanks to him! 🩷
Let me start off by saying that I was totally 100% sure that this would never work. I quickly apologized to my family members. Ben was outstanding. He came to our home and everyone was instantly comfortable. We sat outside and talked for a while and then we went into the training part. He was very detailed and we could instantly tell that Ben knew what he was talking about. I personally was terrified (for Ben) to come into the home because he was here for aggressive dog training. Our dog has bit people previously. Ben was so confident and he guided us through FaceTime (he was outside the house) while my boyfriend came inside and started all the training commands Ben taught him. Ben entered the house and our dog never even barked at him. THIS WAS A HUGE STEP!!! I highly recommend Ben and while we still have some work to do, I am more confident then ever that our dog, will be 100% transformed very quickly. Also how amazing is it that this is a lifetime training experience should we ever need Ben back years down the road!!!
I am still amazed that one lesson turned Rocket around so quickly. I love information and Ben shared meaningful, easy to understand "this is what is going on with your dog" feedback. Rocket responded immediately to "bah." We learned how to "speak" dog per se and now he is so much more relaxed at home. Since he is a rescue, we know very little about his life prior to joining ours in December 2023. What was important for me to understand (as his "person") related to what Rocket needs day-to-day: food, shelter/security, love/affection and protection. I did everything but the last one and that translated into Rocket feeling like he needed to "protect" us when people came over. Now that he knows, without question, that I/we are in charge, he can just relax.
While we def plan on continuing working with Ben in the future (leash management) and continuing to work on his initial training, I could not be happier with how far Rocket's already come in a few short weeks.
I highly recommend Ben and Bark Buster's. Worth ever penny.
