Steve was very patient and kind. He took time to explain exactly what he would be doing and how he would be doing the training. Steve showed us each technique and what he was trying to achieve with it. He answered all of our questions and asked us what we were trying to accomplish. Steve communicated with good humor and patience and also communicated well with our dog. We heartily recommend Steve!

Where do I even start with this review! We contacted Bark Busters to help with our two young pitbulls who both deal with fear/reactivity and stranger danger, especially at our house (they bark and freak out at approaching visitors and it became a problem). We were put in contact with Scott and he came to our home to help us start to tackle these things in person in the environment that the trouble was happening. In the very first hour of training, we were not only taught about the basis of the behaviors and the animal psychology behind it, but also given highly effective communication skills and tools to use to immediately address the problem areas. We practiced these skills indoors with each dog, where seeing immediate behavior change felt like such a relief. We were then given practice and homework to continue reinforcing the new boundaries at home, which we have continued happily. I have noticed such a massive change in my dog's behavior, including in ways completely unrelated to the initial problem areas. He is calmer on car rides, more relaxed in public settings, and pays more attention to my communication and body language in our daily life. The basis of all of this was Scott teaching me how to use my body and my voice to tell my dog that he's safe, that I am in charge, and that I expect certain good behaviors. I was so afraid that a trainer would tell me to make my dog a submissive obedient robot, or tell me I had to stop being ridiculous and playful with my dog, or that I had to use physical force to fix these things. None of that was true. Scott is a dog dad too, and a major dog lover. He taught us communication skills that still allow us to have the loving, goofy relationship that we want with our pets while enforcing boundaries that make all of our lives easier. Scott is a great teacher and his ethos around dog behavior and training are kind, loving, and based in a real understanding of dog psychology. I am so thankful we found Bark Busters!! I have much more confident, calm dogs after just a few weeks of this new learning and I feel like I have the tools I need to continue being the dog mama that they need.

Photo of Juniper and Oreo Working with Omar has been an eye‑opening and genuinely transformative experience for our family. He didn’t just help us address our dog’s behavioral challenges — he helped us understand why those behaviors were happening in the first place. Omar opened our minds to a completely new way of seeing our relationship with our dog and how we communicate with her.

His calm, clear guidance gave us the confidence we needed to fully commit to helping her grow, adjust, and ultimately live in harmony with our other pets. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, we now feel empowered and connected, and we’re already seeing meaningful progress.

If you’re looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable, patient, and truly invested in helping you build a better relationship with your dog, Omar is the one. We couldn’t recommend him more.

Sharon from Bark Busters is absolutely amazing. She is very knowledgeable, very friendly, has a wealth of very valuable information, for puppies / dog training. She helped me with our four-month-old Chihuahua on house breaking, chewing, not eating poop, crate training, and our eight-year-old min pin Chihuahua with separation anxiety. Our four-month-old is new to our family, andf she provided me with a wealth of valuable information to help with training both our dogs. I totally recommend Sharon. She is a gem and is absolutely doing what she is meant to be doing.

Photo of Lucky We have had such a wonderful experience with Bark Busters Dakota County, and especially with Omar. He has been working with our German Shepherd puppy, Lucky, since he was just 10 weeks old and now at 6 months, the progress has been incredible.

Omar doesn't just train Lucky, he helps our entire family understand his needs so we can become the best dog parents we can be. His guidance has been calm, thoughtful, and incredibly effective, and it’s given us so much confidence as we raise a high energy, intelligent puppy.

The lifetime support alone makes this service more than worth the investment, and knowing we can continue to lean on Omar as Lucky grows is such a gift. We are truly grateful for the care, expertise, and heart he brings to his work. He really is a dog whisperer! We couldn’t recommend Bark Busters Dakota County more highly.

Can't say enough good things about my experience working with Johnny Jumper with Bark Busters East Orange County. We adopted a rescue puppy, Joe, who is all puppy all the time with a play-all-day mentality. This annoyed and frustrated my senior dog, and she became aggressive toward him. Since he is bigger than her, it becomes a serious fear and concern. Additionally, Joe was originally abandoned in a garage and was fearful of everything, including people. After a scary scuffle between the dogs that left my senior dog's mouth bleeding, we kept the dogs separated (so much work) and started the hunt for a trainer. We connected with Johnny at Bark Busters, and he patiently came to our house for several weeks to help solve our problem. He was so kind and patient with our dogs and with me. He taught me the skills to better control my dogs and helped me be more confident. Today, my dogs get along great and even play a little. Johnny is a true animal lover with dogs of his own, and it shows in his work and patience. You will not be disappointed in his ability to help solve any dog issues you have. One last note on Bark Busters. What I liked about Bark Busters compared to other companies is that it offers a lifetime guarantee for the dog's life. Meaning, if you run into issues with your dog in the future, Johnny will come back out and help you. Also, other companies have a set number of visits to hopefully resolve your issue. Bark Busters will come out as many times as needed to resolve the issue. In that sense, it's well worth the investment. If you have problem doggies, please call Johnny, he's your man.

Google Review: "I highly recommend Bark Busters! They did a fantastic job helping us understand how our dog thinks. Instead of just training the dog, they taught us how to appropriately communicate to achieve a change in behavior. Thank you for your hard work with us!"
