We have 2 dogs, boy & girl, who are 2 years old, high-energy breed; border collie + pit mixes. Kevin is helping us work on obedience issues; barking, jumping, pulling on a leash, distraction/listening skills. Kevin has helped us learn tools, skills, & exercises to practice and improve these behaviors in our pups and we're seeing a ton of progress so far. Kevin has been very thorough and proactive reaching out to check in on our pups. He's flexible and we can reach out to him with photos and questions anytime. We've had a great experience so far and are looking forward to working with him more to get our pups where we want them to be!
Couldn't recommend Kevin enough. After just one session my wife and I received the tools necessary to start properly training our dog. We have a very high energy Aussiedoodle (2 year old) that we weren't sure would calm down and give us the respect we needed. Since working with Kevin and Bark Busters we have only seen improvement. Before Kevin came into our lives our dog Sol was definitely confused. Now he isn't and understands the hierarchy in our home. The simple tools and guidance he has shown us are super effective. Very grateful to have Kevin in our lives!
Bark Busters is amazing! These trainers give you the instruction and tools to train effectively. They don’t use treats too heavily or clickers or shock collars. All you need is your voice, your presence, and your body language. I’ve seen amazing improvements in my pup since working with them. They are also so available for questions and concerns- they text back promptly and thoroughly. I would recommend to anyone looking for the best trainers. 10/10!!
We started our training with Kevin a little over a month ago for our two dogs. Our dogs have very different personalities and are about 4.5 years apart. The younger dog is a big barker and the older one is extremely skittish. Kevin came in and showed us really helpful tips on how to handle each of our pups and adapted the training to fit each of their personalities. Since the 1st training, the younger dog's barking has gone down 90% ! Scheduling times to meet have been really easy and Kevin has been prompt and thorough in responding to all of our questions via text message. I love that Kevin and Bark Busters recognizes that dogs have different personalities and meets them where they are. It also feels like we have a trusted guru on our side to help our dogs (and us) live their happiest, most relaxed lives!
Absolutely would recommend! I have a two and a half year old Labrador with a ton of energy. Specially, I was looking for help with my dog to not pull when on his leash, not excitedly greeting guests at the door, not jumping on people, keeping his attention on me when outside, and communicating better with my dog overall. In just one session with Kevin we made serious and lasting improvements! Kevin gave us tailored training exercises to do daily that are clearly having a positive impact. I’ve really appreciated Kevin’s approach to uniquely understand my dog, which has allowed for a highly personalized training program.
On top of all the good behavior the training sessions have brought, I can tell that my dog really enjoys them and the daily exercises with me. It’s all led to a deeper bond with my dog.
I cannot recommend Bark Busters enough! Our little maltipoo, Maple, had terrible separation anxiety and would become destructive if left alone and would bark ceaselessly. After just a couple of sessions with Kevin, we had an entirely new dog! She is now 1.5 yrs old and is leash trained, crate trained, and respects boundaries very well. Bark Busters was a complete game changer!! Best investment a dog owner can make.
I had the pleasure of having Kevin as Blu's trainer. It was definitely more of a training for me rather than my dog, but I learned so much. It felt great to have some real advice on how dogs communicate rather than sift through the internet for all the training material that is out there. Kevin was very wonderful at coordinating the training sessions and also very professional. He came to my apartment to see Blu and I. Blu is a rescued Siberian Husky and while I did build trust with him over 3 years, there were a lot of things I wanted to work on with him that would just make him a more well-mannered dog. Separation anxiety, leash manners, and recall were the top things I wanted to work on. Kevin listened to what I wanted and addressed them very well. I highly recommend Kevin as a dog trainer! I really should have started here before trying to find training material on YouTube. Speaking dog is actually very simple and the greatest thing is my dog understands it! I didn't see any training material online that taught what Kevin taught me. He also brought training tools like a special harness and a spray bottle for me to keep! The harness is AMAZING and I have never seen anything else like it! It was specially designed by Bark busters! After doing the 5 week homework, my dog pays attention to me more and looks to me for direction. He also seems more calm as he looks to me to lead. I did the in-home training and am thankful to Kevin!!!
It is no exaggeration to say that Kevin from Bark Busters literally changed my and my dog's lives. I absolutely cannot recommend him enough.
Holly has always been an anxious dog, but after the pandemic, this got even worse. She became very fearful and aggressive towards any people she didn't know. She is very cute and eye-catching, so people are always wanting to pet her. But when she starts barking, she's so loud and scares the heck out of people.
She would bark at any person who approached her, anyone jogging, anyone carrying things -- and sometimes at random people who did nothing at all. She even started nipping at their heels, and tore someone's pant leg. She did the same thing to any new person who tried to enter the house, too. It got to the point where I couldn't take her anywhere without fear, and I couldn't have anyone come to my house unless I had her locked away.
I was terrified that she was going to bite someone, and I felt awful that she was so anxious all the time. None of the training techniques I tried worked! I saw several trainers, and did research on my own as well. The problem is that Holly isn't very food motivated, and isn't toy motivated either. Positive reinforcement just wasn't working, but I didn't want to be cruel to my dog either. I was starting to think that I'd have to make her wear a muzzle or a shock collar.
I found Bark Busters, and though I was hesitant to spend so much for training up front, it has paid off tenfold. Kevin is amazing. He really understands how a dog's brain works, and he taught me how to communicate with Holly in a way she can understand (but not in any BS "alpha dominance" kind of way).
The training helped INSTANTLY. Within days of our first session, I was able to bring someone new into the house without her scaring them away. Now that she understands what I want from her, and that she can rely on me to handle any uncertain situations, she has become so much more relaxed. Walks are a breeze now, and I can let her off leash in the park with no trouble.
I would recommend Bark Busters to anyone, but especially if you have a dog who doesn't respond to "traditional" training that's only reinforced with treats. I promise you will not regret it!

Kevin possesses extensive knowledge of dog behavior and is a caring, professional, and skilled trainer who understands our dog's needs to provide the best possible assistance and help. SO grateful that we took the leap of faith and tried Bark Busters! We have two rescue dogs (6 years, and 9 months old) and the 6 year old started teaching the new rescue bad habits: being aggressive on leash, barking at the door, aggressive towards any guests that come over, etc. It was getting out of control and we have tried 3 previous times to train her and nothing worked. We did puppy classes, zoom room, and even a zoom trainer during the pandemic. We have only had two sessions with Kevin at Bark Busters and already seeing HUGE life changing results for our family. It is simple easy to understand training that does not use treats or fear. He taught us how to communicate effectively and it is WORKING. Both the dogs and my husband and I are so much less stressed on a daily basis and we are feeling empowered to continue with the homework every day. Admittedly my husband was trigger shy on the upfront cost but within five minutes of the first appointment, he whispered to me "I'm so sorry I ever doubted booking this". We have recommended to all our dog owner friends!!
