In-Home Dog Training in Greater Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, & the Chesapeake Bay Region!
Welcome! I’m Natalie, and I’m passionate about helping families in Greater Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and the Chesapeake Bay Region build amazing and fulfilling relationships with their dogs.
My husband and I have always been lifelong pet lovers, sharing a deep passion for dogs. Together, we’ve raised 14 dogs of various breeds—including Great Danes, Toy Poodles, a Siberian Husky, a Wheaten Terrier, and several wonderful rescue dogs—each with their own unique personality. Over the years, I've found the greatest joy in making a positive impact on both people and their incredible dogs.
Having lived and worked in Maryland my entire life, I am deeply rooted in this community. I studied at UMBC, where I earned a degree in Psychology. We've raised five wonderful children here in the Greater Annapolis area, teaching them how to understand and connect with their dogs. I’ve been both a school-teacher and a successful real estate agent, helping families find their dream homes.
Now, as a dog trainer, my mission is to help families experience the profound joy of having well-behaved, happy dogs. I believe every family deserves the tools and support to create a harmonious and lasting bond with their pets.
When I'm not working, you’ll find me enjoying life on the water or around the Chesapeake Bay, spending time with my family, and of course, with our dog Gracie. If you’re ready to live a happier life with your dog, contact me today. We’d love to help!

What is Reactive Dog Behavior?
Dogs that react with abnormal or excessive intensity to everyday situations are often referred to as reactive. A common example of reactive behavior is leash reactivity. Leash reactivity can look like barking, lunging, or pulling when they see other dogs, people, or even cars. When reactive dogs get overly excited and react to other dogs on the leash, it can oftentimes be mistaken for aggression.
What Causes Reactivity?
Professional dog trainers specializing in aggressive dog behavior can help identify reactive behaviors and address the root causes behind them. Reactivity in dogs is often linked to a lack of emotional self-control. This can result from a lack of proper or positive socialization while a puppy, or from a past traumatic experience that left the dog triggered.
Resolving Reactive Behavior
At Bark Buster Greater Annapolis, we focus on giving you practical tools and tips to help your dog feel more confident and relaxed, especially on the leash. It's all about teaching them to trust your lead, manage their excitement, and understand that they don’t have to protect or chase everything that moves. If you’re ready to have calm and stress-free walks, contact me today.

Are You Dealing with Nonstop Barking?
Barking is one of the most common complaints we hear from our clients and local dog owners. While barking is considered normal dog behavior, excessive barking often signals stress and becomes a nuisance for owners, neighbors, and the community.
At Bark Busters Greater Annapolis, we help clients to solve excessive barking by teaching you how to communicate with your dog in a way your dog understands. Most importantly, we help you get to the root cause of your dog's behavior!
Dogs bark in a variety of situations:
- Owners arrive or leave home
- Visitors arrive, including deliveries, mail, vendors or friends and family
- Hear other dogs barking
- Playing
- Demanding attention
- Signal a need, like wanting to go outside, or wanting to be fed
- Scared or startled
- Showing aggression, or fighting
- At passersby or animals outside …or for no obvious reason at all!
It's Never Too Late to Curb Unwanted Barking
Barking is how our dogs communicate with us, and as a dog owner, it’s your job to understand what your dog is trying to tell you. We can help! Your Bark Busters trainer in Greater Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay region can help you teach your dog to bark at appropriate times.

Is Your Dog Showing Signs of Separation Anxiety?
If your dog howls, whines, barks or is destructive when you leave them, they may be suffering from separation anxiety - a fear of being left alone. Your dog may be stressed and will stay that way until you come home. Your dog needs to learn that being alone is safe and that you will always come back.
How to Spot the Symptoms of Separation Anxiety
Separation anxiety can materialize differently in different dogs and in different situations, but may include:
- Excessive vocalization (howling, barking)
- Inappropriate toileting
- Destructive behavior (chewing, digging)
- Excessive panting
- Pacing and drooling
Separation anxiety in dogs has several causes, one being incorrect conditioning by owners, where puppies are over-indulged, and never given the chance to become accustomed to being left alone.
