I'm so happy I finally decided to get my boy trained. I have an 75lb rottie/lab X who would non-stop bark, charge the door when visitors came over, sit right at your feet while you were eating. I have never been able to walk my pup without some sort of prong collar or halti because he would pull and have bad leash aggression. Ryan came to our house, explained exactly why he is behaving like this, gave us training on how to correct his bad behavior without any incentives and then demonstrated with our dog. It was hard for me at first because I used to be one of those pet parents that would let my dog control my life because I was worried about hurting his feeling but learned in the process of the training with Ryan that he did not respect me as an owner and that is why he would never listen to me when I tried to discipline him. Ryan stayed with us for 3 hours making sure we had all the proper utensils and insight on my dogs behavior and I'm so glad we did it, not to mention I have Ryan on call most hours of the day for the rest of Trav's life if I have any questions or even if I need a follow up visit to reiterate some things I may have forgotten. If you are on the fence about spending the money on the dog training I highly recommend you spend the money and get it done because its amazing how different my pupper is now that I know how to correct his poor behavior. We are still in the beginning stages of the training but he's barely barking now, his anxiety has gone down a tremendous amount , he no longer pulled me at all on walks and i am able to use just a collar and leash and has been doing so much better with the leash aggression. Pretty much all the problems I was having in the beginning are almost all non existent. Thank you so much Ryan for letting me truly understand my boy and be a better mom all together!

I have been working with Ryan at Bark Busters Colorado Springs, since February 2026… and I can’t tell you how much peace it’s brought me, and more importantly: my dog. As a single woman, and owner of a crafty hunting canine, I have employed at least four different dog training professionals. Ryan and the Bark Busters philosophy was the first where we had immediate behavior change, clear boundaries, and sound logic to make me feel confident in the ‘why.’ I have met with Ryan three times in the last month alone, and he’s always met my dog and I with empathy, kindness and enthusiasm. 10/10 would recommend Ryan and his team. It’s very evident from our first lesson and follow up that he truly understands dogs and their behaviors in addition to their humans! We had a follow up with Ryan since our guard dog has been picking up a new behavior (barking and charging the fence when people walk by) and pulling on the leash. Ryan came out to us within the week and was able to help us get the behaviors back under control. We thought we were doing everything right and it turns out myself and husband were missing a crucial step in his training. Cowboy was more placating us instead of listening/respecting. With the help of Ryan, we are all back on track and doing great!

We reached out to Ryan and BarkBusters to help with our 3 dogs (9, 8.5, & 4 years old). While our dogs are super sweet, they were a mess; reactive, pullers, no boundaries, dog aggressive. We noticed a huge change after just one session! Today we were able to take the to a park with other dogs. They are more polite, so easy to walk, and sweeter than ever. This training was a game changer, we couldn't recommend Ryan more strongly.

After researching training options for my new puppy I’m happy that I chose Bark Busters and Ryan. He came to my home and taught me how to communicate with my dog in a way that he understands, I saw results immediately and was amazed at how quickly Keko responded when I changed my approach with him. Ryan gave us results with both of our dogs the very first day!! We were struggling with new people entering our home and not getting barked at or bombarded with jumping and aggression!He gave us skills that worked right out the gate! I hired Bark Busters 12 years ago, and my dog passed away in 2024, but I wanted to leave a second review after all this time. Ryan spent hours at our home listening to our concerns while offering training, and advice to integrate our two dogs. He is extremely knowledgeable and an overall really honest and great guy. The training isn't going to work long term for one of my dogs due to rare, and special circumstance, however Ryan was professional, kind, and understanding treating us with the same respect while selling his service as he did when we decided that the service wasn’t a fit for one of the dogs. To me that’s extremely valuable and speaks volumes about his character. The bark buster method works for most dogs and I would 100% contact Ryan again for training in the future. Ryan was amazing with educating us on K-9 communication and techniques of how to retrain him. Luca was a rescue with severe anxiety and fear of men, children and other animals which he acted out with severe aggression. Within minutes, Ryan started his transformation and it was simply bewildering to watch! Luca’s change is ongoing, his behavior is so different. We are so thankful for his guidance!!!

Ryan the best dog trainer I have ever worked with for my dog! I adopted my dog from a shelter and she end up being dog reactive. With the help of Ryan my dog is now able to run around with other dogs with no issues. I highly recommend Ryan if you are in the Colorado Springs area!!

My dogs weren't necessarily "problem dogs" but we did have some small issues that could be super annoying. Because our second dog was a pandemic puppy and he had never known life without someone in the house (and had some anxiety issues) I had thought about getting some dog training, but wasn't ready to commit because of the cost of everything. Well, we were able to see the results of Ryan's first session with a dog-friend, and the difference in that dog's behavior encouraged me to pull the plug. I am SO glad I did! Our first session went really well. The dogs responded well and we were able to learn techniques that are easy to follow through on. However, it was our second session that blew me away! In just one hour I went from thinking I'd always have my two dogs pulling on their leashes, to being able to walk both dogs on a loose leash and have them remain at my side or behind me. I was STUNNED! and SO excited! There's no secret product or crazy voodoo, Ryan just teaches you how to communicate clearly with your dog (and all dogs). I am so excited. Other benefits that we've seen is that our puppy who was anxious around all strangers has calmed down significantly and both dogs actually pay attention to me when I give them commands.

Ryan is a modern day dog whisperer. We contacted Ryan when we decided to get a new puppy and we are so glad that we were able to work with him. When Ryan makes a house call to visit you, he comes prepared with an arsenal of information and products that will help you manage your dog and his/her issues.
Ryan helps educate dog owners in animal behavior and psychology as the overarching premise of training. He is very thorough in helping you think and communicate with your dog in a natural way, ie, in a way that dogs communicate with each other. Ryan teaches you the fundamentals of non-verbal communication with your dog, and that is the key to everything. You have to think like a dog. To reinforce this philosophy, Ryan demonstrates its' use with your dog as well as through observing and analyzing videos of dogs interacting in the absence of people. What you see happening, and what Ryan points out is the key to communicating with your dog in a commanding, non-verbal fashion in the absence of treats.
We have been using these non-verbal communication techniques with our puppy and the results are short of miraculous. Our puppy went from nipping and chewing on us on essentially a non-stop basis to only exhibiting this behavior when he gets very excited. Now, when he gets overstimulated, we are able to calm him down and stop his nipping with the techniques we learned.
We really liked the way Ryan simplifies the process and its' fundamental premises. The philosophy is very easy to understand and apply in real life.
Ryans' down to earth and friendly approach is inspiring and effective. Knowing that Ryan is on retainer for problems that will occur is an extremely comforting thought as we raise our puppy.

Astounded. That is the word we would use to describe the change in Tanks behavior. In a single session with Ryan, we had a totally different dog! Tank was very anxious around other people and would bark aggressively and had even bitten someone. After Ryan taught us how to communicate with Tank in a way he understands, he is now calm and relaxed. It is amazing! I can’t recommend this training method, and Ryan, enough!! And the lifetime training is a huge bonus. Ryan is very responsive and available to help as new issues arise. BarkBusters is the best thing we have ever done for our dog and family.

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical that this training would work for my 2 year old rescue, but it did! I waited a few months after calling Bark Busters, because I thought it was too expensive. However, my dog's barking and anxiety got worse, so I decided to bite the bullet and make an appointment with Ryan. BEST MOVE EVER AND WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!! The appointment was 3 hours. Most of the appointment was educating me on "speaking dog" and nutrition. Then we put my new tactics into action. My dog responded immediately and it is SOOOOO EASY!!!!! We only had to ring the doorbell 3 different times and my dog was cured of barking at the doorbell and charging to the door. It sounds unbelievable and it is!!!! Now when my doorbell rings, my dog might bark once to alert me, but he doesn't charge the door at all. GAME CHANGER!!!! The stress level of people coming over is gone! My dog is well behaved and even listens great in the car. NO MORE JUMPING in the front seat while I am driving. He sits in the back like a good dog. Ryan is coming back in a few weeks for a follow up. I can't imagine my dog getting even better, because now he is PERFECT in my eyes! Thank you Ryan for changing our family dynamics. Ryan helped with me SO MUCH with my dog, Emmy! Emmy had some minor issues in our home and we were able to get them fixed right away with Ryan’s help. I have been around dogs professionally for over 29+ years with my late husband being a veterinarian and our owning 2 Animal Hospitals. We saw many dogs with behavior problems. Our clients tried various types of training methods and trainers. Occasionally, we would see improvement, but it took a long long time. We did not know about Bark Busters. My current husband and I have a new imported German Shepherd. He is struggling with intense fear of people that come into our home. He is over all obedient and barks in situations when appropriate, It appears that during transport to the United States he was abused. (we and our family have purchased other Shepherds from this facility and did not encounter this problem). After our first meeting with Ryan we started to learn to "speak dog" . WOW, Jonko is a different dog after just one session. This training has also helped us to speak dog to our other old Shepherd and our 2 little Yorkies. Our home is already so much more peaceful! I have a 13-week-old Westie puppy named Kevin with a habit of play biting, nipping and chewing. Ryan came out to the house for Kevin's first lesson two days ago and I now have a completely different dog. Ryan showed me how to go from being Kevin's littermate to being the pack leader which eliminated the biting and chewing on my clothing and skin. As Kevin is still so young, we will be addressing additional behaviors as he gets older and the lifetime guarantee will enable us to do that--whether it is six months or six years from now. It has only been a couple of days but I am so happy with the results!

If there were 6 stars, Ryan would get them! Are you kidding me??? Brilliant in it's simplicity. Super easy to implement. INSTANT (and I mean instant) results. Look, if you're reading this review it's probably because, like me, you did the puppy/dog training class cha-cha with treats, clickers, etc. Sure, that works fine as long as you have treats and clickers but, what happens when you don't? And, like me, you probably went through multiple weeks of group classes only to learn that the results are just okay. In one meeting, he rocked these dogs (and my life) with simple, straight-forward and permanent changes to their behaviors. It costs and it was worth every penny.
