Photo of Ziggy and Daisy Holly from Bark Busters has been an incredible help with my two Goldendoodles. She started working with us when they were puppies about two years ago and has played a huge role in helping them grow into sweet, well-behaved dogs. Holly is very professional, knowledgeable, and also incredibly personable. One thing I really appreciate is that she proactively checks in with me from time to time and even comes back to help get us back on track when I drop the ball with training. I would absolutely recommend Holly to anyone looking for effective, supportive dog training.

Photo of Monty Jared helped me and my family with our first puppy, Monty. With the overwhelming amount of information out there, it is comforting to have someone with Jared’s knowledge and calm demeanor who we can reach out to for the support that we need in raising our mini-Schnauzer. Through Jared’s first visit, we learned Bark Buster’s methods of behavior correction which has helped us feel more empowered and given us the confidence boost we needed to improve our relationship with our new pup. I am excited to continue on this training path with Jared’s support and would recommend him to anyone who may struggling with the challenges that all new puppy parents face.

We have two Pomeranians that barked incessantly. They drove us crazy! In just one session, Jef taught us methods to correct the behaviors that we feared were just a part of having Pomeranians. I can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s not only a great trainer, but he’s also a really nice guy who’s fun to work with! Definitely call, you won’t be sorry. Having well-mannered dogs is wonderful!

Photo of Sage I approached Scott and Holly with a complex request. Help me learn to better understand my blind and deaf dog who had developed aggression over the past few months. My rescue had taken a turn and no matter the number of books I read, or the trainers I hired, I was no closer to speaking her language.

Sage and I worked together well. She learns commands quickly and is so smart, but she was losing trust in me and I didn’t know how to gain it back. I was desperate. I looked to board and trains that promised obedience, but they were not right for us for a plethora of reasons. (Learned after some thousands of dollars later). We needed hands on help, guidance and someone to listen.

Scott communicated openly with me, and after our first training I saw an end to the tension we’d been living with. I saw Sage responding to me and listening. We were working together again.

I can’t speak for all Barkbusters trainers, but these two are exceptional at helping you understand and lead your dog. I appreciate their approach of positive reinforcement suited to Sage along with gentle redirects. They will do everything they can to help, even if it means suggesting other trainers or programs.

I’ve only just begun this process with them but seeing Sage settle instead of growl and protect her bed has me hopeful for a better future for her and me both. It’ll be a long road but I see way less potholes in it now. Maybe some bumps but we can handle that.

If you want to learn alongside your companion, if you want to put in the work - give them a call.

Hello! I have been working with Sharon for about a year now. My dog has been dealing with fear, anxiety, and reactviity around others and overreacting to stimuli. Sharon has helped me understand how I can make my dog feel safer, calmer and micro dose my dog to have better interactions. Using her guidance over several sessions in various settings including in and around my home and in public, I have seen improvement that has made it easier for me to have control over my life and allowed me to move to my dream location with far less concern for my dog's mental health. Sharon has done quite a few follow-up sessions as needed to support us in this journey. Thank you Sharon!

Photo of Lola and Yogi We have three dogs of different ages and breeds and there can be chaos in the house at times. Immediately after Robert stepped into the house and started implementing his techniques we saw improvement with our dog’s behaviors. Their barking and jumping was able to be controlled. Robert clearly explained his techniques and how to perform them and why they work. He then worked with us to ensure we grasped how to follow what he did and make sure our dogs listened to us. The improvement we saw in just a few hours convinced us we made the right decision in calling Robert for his help! Robert is great!!

Photo of Bruce & Maggie It was a productive traning session. We learned leash training setting boundaries and overall leadership. Orlando was a amazing trainer and was able to answer any questions we had. We are very happy with our session.

Photo of We adopted a ~3yo male bull terrier mix from a shelter and needed help getting him settled in. He is nervous around men, especially tall men, and was starting to get very overly protective of our home. "Boot camp" options seemed extreme, so I called Bark Busters (BB), seeking in-home private lessons. Justin responded the same day I left a message, and we talked about my concerns with our new rescue. I decided to try the BB program, which ended up being the BEST DECISION for my pup and for me! Justin set up our first session with trainer/coach James. James spent much of the 1st session going through the goals, objectives and concepts of training, including a timeline based on reasonable expectations of my dog. James spent a lot of time explaining how to "read" my dog's behavior, and how to properly respond. He explained the concepts behind each step, which helped me to understand not just what to do, but why (thus enabling me to understand how to deploy the training to different situations). James also set up scenarios to practice, going through each step so I could gain confidence in what my role is while helping my dog settle. It really is about training the owner how to work with the dog. James provided summaries of each session, plus videos demonstrating how I can use different responses/techniques to reshape how my dog reacts to stressful situations. I saw significant progress very early in the training, and was surprised at how quickly we were able to help my dog understand his role (and to feel safe) in our home. The best part is that if I need more help, I just have to reach out to James/BB and schedule more sessions - this is included in the initial program. Given that it takes a rescue dog a while to COMPLETELY settle in, new issues could arise as time passes, and if so, all I have to do is call to set it up. In summary, Bark Busters is a GREAT dog training program, and James is a FANTASTIC BB trainer/coach! Definitely recommend BB to owners that want help with their dogs!

Johnny helped us with our 2 dogs as we transitioned into our new home. One of our dogs is super anxious and reacts by barking and gets our other dog worked up to the point where they are both always on edge. Johnny was great at showing us techniques and drills on how we can work with our dogs to help with the reactivity and anxiety. One of our dogs is not food driven so we thought this was going to be an issue but Johnny was very patient and found the reward that motivated our dog. Johnny spent multiple sessions at our home learning about our dogs and we saw progress after the first session but even more so as we continued working with him. Johnny helped us be more confident as owners and our dogs more content in their new home. Thank you Bark Busters!
