Dog Training & Puppy Training in Winter Garden, Windermere, Doctor Phillips & Kissimmee!

Welcome! We’re Brandon and Charie Marks, your local Bark Busters Dog Trainers and Dog Behavioral Therapists proudly serving Southwest Orlando and surrounding areas.

With over 15 years of experience, I’m Brandon Marks, and I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of dog owners build better relationships with their dogs using the proven Bark Busters method. I specialize in working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and behavioral issues—from basic obedience to severe behavioral challenges.

My wife Charie joined our Bark Busters team in 2023, bringing more than 15 years of experience in hospitality and customer service, particularly in the travel industry. She has a natural gift for connecting with people and dogs alike. Charie is not only an incredible trainer but also a devoted mom to our son, Teddy, and our three rescue dogs—Carlisle, Harlow, and Milo.

For many years, we owned and operated Bark Busters Chicago, helping countless families live happier lives with their dogs. Recently, we made the exciting decision to relocate to Southwest Florida to raise our family in Charie’s hometown. We’re thrilled to continue our passion for dog training in a community that means so much to us.

We look forward to helping you “speak dog” and creating a happier, more peaceful life with your furry companion.

Dog Training Reviews & Testimonials

See what dog owners from Winter Garden to Kissimmee are saying about Bark Busters.

Brandon was great! He really took the time to listen to the issues we were having with our puppy. He was knowledgeable and kind. He even went above and beyond to follow up after the training to make sure training was going well. Highly recommend!
...this trainer completely changed our lives with our dog. We have an 8-month-old pitbull puppy, and before finding him, we were exhausted, overwhelmed, stressed, and genuinely at the point where we thought we might have to give her up. It was heartbreaking because we love her so much, but nothing we were trying was working.

What stood out immediately was that he didn’t just “train dogs.” He understands dog psychology on a completely different level. He was able to read our puppy so accurately and explain behaviors in ways that suddenly made everything click for us. No one else had been able to do that.

Within a short time, we started seeing changes we honestly thought were impossible. Our puppy became calmer, more connected to us, more confident, and overall just happier. But the biggest change was in us, we finally felt like we understood our dog instead of constantly feeling defeated by her behavior.

I truly believe he saved us from making a decision we would have regretted forever. Now we can’t imagine life without our girl, and our bond with her is stronger than ever because of his help.

If you’re struggling with your dog, especially if you feel hopeless or like you’ve “tried everything,” please give him a chance. We are beyond grateful we did.
We are so thankful for Brandon's training guidance. Our pup needed more than basic obedience. I didn't have a lot of hope that anyone could turn our dog around but we saw positive results within 20 mins!
I'm not saying that our pup is completely rehabilitated in one day but with the techniques we were given, patience and consistency; I now believe that our pup can become a fantastic canine citizen. Brandon was amazing and provides continuing support. We wouldn't hesitate to recommended Brandon at Bark Busters Home Dog Training.

My dog, Philly is a reactive, timid, anxious dog. Brandon has done an amazing job or showing me techniques to correct his behavior and helpful tips to keep him occupied while we’re not home. Would definitely recommend him!!
We decided to hire a trainer for our dogs as our baby was starting to be mobile and wanted to learn how to correctly handle any unwanted behavior. Our dogs were not total menaces but not angels either when we started. Brandon has made this an amazing experience for us- our dogs are living in harmony with the baby, the barking at the window has been all but eliminated, and taking walks is beginning to be enjoyable! We’ve noticed a huge change for the better in the dogs and Brandon has given us the confidence to guide them. He also has taken the time to get to know our family and understand our needs. I cannot recommend him enough, he’s improved our lives!
Brandon is absolutely incredible. After the unexpected loss of our dog, Blue, this past December, our other dog, Shadow, developed severe separation anxiety. We couldn’t leave him alone for more than five minutes without him howling and running around the house in a panic—our lives were completely upended.

We reached out to Bark Busters and were connected with Brandon almost immediately. He came to our home the same week, and we noticed a remarkable change in Shadow after just the first training session. Now, not only can we leave Shadow alone for hours, but his overall listening and obedience have improved dramatically.

We are beyond grateful for Brandon’s expertise, patience, and care—he truly made a life-changing difference for our family!
My two puppies were super sweet, but just too smart for their own good, and decided go crazy with dogs, people. Lots of pulling on the leash and barking. Walks were stressful, and I felt overwhelmed because they outnumber me. A friend recommended Bark Busters, and when I started working with Brandon my dogs changed from day one - it felt like magic. As we progressed through the training they got better and better - friends took notice immediately when coming over to the house. Recently had a few workers come through the house for repairs and the dogs were calm, no barking, jumping, listening to every command I gave them. It feels like magic still. I’m thrilled with the results of the training - now I get to just enjoy hanging out with my pups with no stress!
Best investment – Life-changing

After one session, my older puppy, and I started a brand new relationship! Brandon‘s knowledge,, empathy, amazing kindness, and dedication were a parent and long lasting. He was professional and had scheduling flexibility that worked incredibly well for our family.

I am not exaggerating when I say that our relationship and lives have changed forever and the impact to our family has been spectacular

Worth every penny and more!

Can’t wait for our next session!
Gracie was adopted from a breeder situation. She never had the love and security of a family. She was barking constantly at my 38 year old son and even his bedroom door. Brandon came with kind and gentle lessons to help us. We have seen much improvement in three days. We highly recommend Bark Busters for any concerns you are having with your pet! Gracie now has her furever home! Thank you Brandon and Bark Busters!!
Barkbusters has been amazing! Brandon has been a fantastic trainer and very knowledgeable! We were at a loss on what to do with our reactive dogs when we reached out to Brandon and we could not be happier with the work he’s done with us and them. We saw a huge difference after just the first session and every session after has been amazing. We cannot thank him enough!
Brandon and his wife are fantastic! They have really helped with our dogs’ behavior. I highly recommend Barkbusters!
Brandon was so helpful in getting Teddy to calm down and stop barking excessively. Can't wait to use these tips in our future walks. Thank you for helping us with our Teddy. I'm sure we'll have more appointments in the future.
We LOVE BarkBusters! Brandon and Marlene have been outstanding in their training and response time when we have a question/concern. We adopted our puppy when she was 3.5 months old and wanted to start her training with a method that worked for us. Brandon came to our home and got us started and the subsequent zoom calls have been nothing less than life saving. The guidance we get is basic common sense and the redirection is for us as much as it is for Charlotte. The harness and collars really work and are easy to use without hurting or scaring Charlotte.

My husband and I highly recommend using Bark Busters! We are planning to be life time members to ensure if any new 'bad' habits arise we can get them address as soon as possible. If you feel on the fence about reaching out to Bark Busters...don't be, just email them for a chat and you will see for yourself how good having a dog can be.
Brandon has been very helpful and wonderful to work with! He has provided me with a lot of great support in how to improve my dog's separation anxiety, timid behavior, walking, potty training, and much more. He is extremely knowledgeable and has great communication in between sessions for questions or concerns. I highly recommend using Brandon and his team for training! I have seen great progress in a short amount of time and am excited for the new skills we will be working on together!
My rescue dog (Dusty) has a lot of anxiety issues and we were having problems with house training her; Brandon was so amazing with teaching us how to communicate with Dusty and helping us understand what she was feeling. We had 3 sessions with him over the span of 6 months and in that time she became a completely different dog! All of the teachings are easy to understand and implement; plus they're all positive reinforcement (nothing involving shock collars, shouting, or getting rough with the dogs at all). He was also available whenever we had any questions via email, phone call, or text in between sessions. I can't recommend this service highly enough!
I have had only had the initial visit with Brandon and I am truly amazed! Not only is he wonderful, his knowledge and teaching style is wonderful! I have two German Shepherds who are litter-mates, a male and a female. The immediate response I got from the dogs were amazing. One example is when they were pups, I got them when they were 12 weeks, they are now 2.5, they were allowed on my bed. However, as they grew and began shedding more I no longer wanted them on my bed. I could not keep them from jumping on my bed so I used a baby gate to keep them out of my room. For the first time ever that night after training I took the gate down and they did NOT jump on my bed but slept next to the bed. It seems like a miracle to me lol. Thank you Brandon/Bark Busters!
Brandon is the best trainer
Brandon worked with my 6 month old puppy for about 2 hours...I couldn't believe how quickly his techniques worked. Brandon explained the philosophy of Bark Busters and taught us how to do it...I am so glad that I decided to use them for training ....I look forward to more interaction and help with Buckshot...thanks Bark Busters..

Dog Training FAQs in Southwest Orlando

Bark Busters offers a Lifetime Support Guarantee Training Program and is the largest and most trusted dog training program in the World, training over 1 million dogs since 1989. Bark Busters does not use electric collars, prong collars or aversive methods.

The first dog training lesson is normally between an hour and a half to two hours long. The first 30-45 minutes will be spent on assesing your dogs behaviors and discussing how to solve them using dog psychology and the Bark Busters Method. Then we will conduct each exercise with you several times to make sure you see results and are confident in the training process.

Most dog owners see noticeable improvement during their first Bark Busters lesson. Lasting behavior change requires consistency, with just 15–20 minutes of practice each day. Our support-driven training programs include ongoing coaching and follow-up lessons as needed to help you reach your goals. While every dog is different, research suggests it can take 6–8 weeks to reliably change a specific behavior.

Bark Busters home training programs are designed to balance and improve your relationship with your dog, not the relationship with your dog and a trainer. We will work to transform you into the best dog trainer and leader your dog needs you to be.

During board and train programs, dog owners are often not present or involved in the training directly, therefore making the training difficult for the owner to replicate when their dog is back home. Board and train programs are also typically between 4 and 6 weeks long with little to no support afterwards.

Bark Busters programs are support driven and allow for the time needed to see behavioral change. Board and train programs also often use aversive tools like an electric collar or prong collar to correct dogs. Our in home program does not use any of these aversive tools. We instead teach dog psychology, body language and tone of voice.

Bark Busters home training program provides a distraction free environment so that your dog can focus and learn more effectively. A dog's behavior will change depending on their environment. The best training environment for your dog to learn is in the home with you and your family where the behaviors naturally occur. We will start out with low level distractions in the home first and then work on adding higher level distractions such as other dogs, people, etc.

Classroom training is more for socialization at a younger age and learning some basic obedience training. It will not solve for the emotional response that your dog has or develops around distractions. The Bark Busters program works to manage your dogs fight or flight mental state so that they can perform those obedience tasks and focus on you when you need it most.

Yes, owners are heavily involved with our training programs. Think of us as a personal trainer and coach for you and your dog. At the first lesson, we will show you how to do each exercise with your dog and then make sure your dog listens to you when you conduct the exercises with them.

Positive reinforcement is simply rewarding the behavior you want your dog to display. Dogs are motivated by either food, toys or attention. Some dogs for example are not treat or food motivated, so using a treat only approach may not make sense.

Bark Busters uses a mixture of positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement through body language and tone of voice. Treats are not mandatory.

Older dogs can absolutely learn better behavior! It's never too early or too late to start training an adult dog. Puppies can start training around 8 weeks old.
