Dog Training & Puppy Training in Winter Garden, Windermere, Doctor Phillips & Kissimmee!
Welcome! We’re Brandon and Charie Marks, your local Bark Busters Dog Trainers and Dog Behavioral Therapists proudly serving Southwest Orlando and surrounding areas.
With over 15 years of experience, I’m Brandon Marks, and I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of dog owners build better relationships with their dogs using the proven Bark Busters method. I specialize in working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and behavioral issues—from basic obedience to severe behavioral challenges.
My wife Charie joined our Bark Busters team in 2023, bringing more than 15 years of experience in hospitality and customer service, particularly in the travel industry. She has a natural gift for connecting with people and dogs alike. Charie is not only an incredible trainer but also a devoted mom to our son, Teddy, and our three rescue dogs—Carlisle, Harlow, and Milo.
For many years, we owned and operated Bark Busters Chicago, helping countless families live happier lives with their dogs. Recently, we made the exciting decision to relocate to Southwest Florida to raise our family in Charie’s hometown. We’re thrilled to continue our passion for dog training in a community that means so much to us.
We look forward to helping you “speak dog” and creating a happier, more peaceful life with your furry companion.

Dog Training FAQs in Southwest Orlando
Bark Busters offers a Lifetime Support Guarantee Training Program and is the largest and most trusted dog training program in the World, training over 1 million dogs since 1989. Bark Busters does not use electric collars, prong collars or aversive methods.
The first dog training lesson is normally between an hour and a half to two hours long. The first 30-45 minutes will be spent on assesing your dogs behaviors and discussing how to solve them using dog psychology and the Bark Busters Method. Then we will conduct each exercise with you several times to make sure you see results and are confident in the training process.
Most dog owners see noticeable improvement during their first Bark Busters lesson. Lasting behavior change requires consistency, with just 15–20 minutes of practice each day. Our support-driven training programs include ongoing coaching and follow-up lessons as needed to help you reach your goals. While every dog is different, research suggests it can take 6–8 weeks to reliably change a specific behavior.
Bark Busters home training programs are designed to balance and improve your relationship with your dog, not the relationship with your dog and a trainer. We will work to transform you into the best dog trainer and leader your dog needs you to be.
During board and train programs, dog owners are often not present or involved in the training directly, therefore making the training difficult for the owner to replicate when their dog is back home. Board and train programs are also typically between 4 and 6 weeks long with little to no support afterwards.
Bark Busters programs are support driven and allow for the time needed to see behavioral change. Board and train programs also often use aversive tools like an electric collar or prong collar to correct dogs. Our in home program does not use any of these aversive tools. We instead teach dog psychology, body language and tone of voice.
Bark Busters home training program provides a distraction free environment so that your dog can focus and learn more effectively. A dog's behavior will change depending on their environment. The best training environment for your dog to learn is in the home with you and your family where the behaviors naturally occur. We will start out with low level distractions in the home first and then work on adding higher level distractions such as other dogs, people, etc.
Classroom training is more for socialization at a younger age and learning some basic obedience training. It will not solve for the emotional response that your dog has or develops around distractions. The Bark Busters program works to manage your dogs fight or flight mental state so that they can perform those obedience tasks and focus on you when you need it most.
Yes, owners are heavily involved with our training programs. Think of us as a personal trainer and coach for you and your dog. At the first lesson, we will show you how to do each exercise with your dog and then make sure your dog listens to you when you conduct the exercises with them.
Positive reinforcement is simply rewarding the behavior you want your dog to display. Dogs are motivated by either food, toys or attention. Some dogs for example are not treat or food motivated, so using a treat only approach may not make sense.
Bark Busters uses a mixture of positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement through body language and tone of voice. Treats are not mandatory.
Older dogs can absolutely learn better behavior! It's never too early or too late to start training an adult dog. Puppies can start training around 8 weeks old.
We provide dog training in Winter Garden, Gotha, Oakland, Windermere, Doctor Phillips, Ocoee, Clarcona, Celebration, Kissimmee, Orlando, Davenport and Poinciana.
