Question 1

What makes Bark Busters different from other dog trainers in Northern Boston?

Accepted Answer

What makes Bark Busters Boston North different is our personalized, in-home approach. Your trainer comes directly to your home, where your dog’s behavior actually happens. During your lesson, we observe your dog’s behavior, identify what may be driving it, teach you how to communicate effectively, and practice the skills in the real-life environments you and your dog share every day.

Rather than attending group classes or sending your dog away for training, you’ll learn practical solutions tailored to your dog, your family, and your routine.

Question 2

How does in-home dog training work and what can I expect from the first lesson?

Accepted Answer

Your trainer comes to your home for a personalized lesson. We observe your dog’s behavior, identify what is driving the behavior, teach you how to communicate effectively, and practice the skills in the environments where you and your dog actually live.

Your first lesson typically lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours. This allows enough time to understand your dog’s behavior, teach the foundational communication skills, practice with your dog, and create a plan for continuing the work at home.

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with many dogs displaying aggression, including dog-to-dog reactivity, territorial behavior, resource guarding, and other aggressive behaviors. Every case is evaluated individually, and safety is always the priority.

Question 5

Do you use shock collars, e-collars, prong collars, or choke chains?

Accepted Answer

No. Our training philosophy does not rely on shock, pain, fear, or intimidation. We focus on communication, relationship, leadership, and teaching dogs and their owners how to understand one another.

Question 6

Do you use treats or food rewards for dog training?

Accepted Answer

Our approach does not rely on food bribery or treats to get a dog to listen. Instead, we focus on clear communication, relationship, body language, boundaries, and helping owners understand the reason behind their dog’s behavior.
