Robert Machi is the best trainer I have ever had.
I've had 6 dogs prior to this one and a few trainers.
Currently, I have a giant breed dog who weighs as much as I do - if not more and very strong. He is very sweet and for the most part very chill. One of the issues is that he gets reactive during walks when he sees other dogs - Barking, Lunging, Pulling and standing up. These situations made me very anxious to walk him. Our walks became extremely limited over time and my dog became very unhappy. I was at a loss and felt hopeless and actually thought about rehoming him.
Robert showed up on Friday and taught me what clues to look for, what to do before it escalates and what to do in the event that the situation gets bad.
I never give reviews BUT I had a situation today that I am proud to share.
I took my dog for a walk today and he reacted upon seeing a person walking their dog (barking aggressively, pulling, standing) and I was actually able to control him using Robert's methods and tools. I just stayed calm and was able to pull him away and diffuse the situation. I was actually impressed with myself and very proud. None of the methods or tools I used were harmful to my dog like some trainers I've had in the past. It actually worked. It really really worked. I was actually shocked that I could do this by myself in spite of how large and powerful my dog is. We still have ways to go but what Robert has taught me is working out very well. He is by far the best trainer.

I had several issues with my Dogo Argentino, Duke, that had become extremely stressful and overwhelming. I spent months trying everything possible to correct his behavior problems on my own, but I was getting nowhere. Duke is a very high-energy breed and was unable to calm down in the house, especially at night, even after spending the day walking and running in the park. He also had a serious issue with pulling on the leash, regardless of the collars or harnesses I used.
A few days before Robert arrived, Duke suddenly became extremely fearful of motorcycles and loud cars. It got to the point where he didn’t even want to go outside anymore. Any loud noise would send him into a panic, and he would desperately try to flee back home.
When Robert came in, I immediately saw huge progress during our very first session. Duke’s behavior inside the house changed almost instantly. Robert was able to get him comfortably across the street and back into the park, and the leash pulling disappeared. Robert is professional, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. His ability to connect with Duke and earn his trust and respect in such a short period of time was truly remarkable.
I learned so much from Robert and worked hard to implement everything he taught me day and night after he left. Even after a week had passed, Duke had a small setback with the noise issues outside. I contacted Robert right away, and without hesitation, he came back the very next day to help. It was clear that he genuinely cares about the animals he works with and takes great pride in what he does.
I couldn’t be happier with the service Robert provided, and I highly recommend him to anyone searching for an exceptional dog trainer. The results we achieved in such a short amount of time exceeded my expectations, and I am incredibly grateful for his help.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Rob. He designed a behavioral training plan for our adopted dog Holly who has separation anxiety, excessive barking, and is overly excitable. Rob’s calm manner during our home training session was professional, informative, and tailored with strategies that suited Holly’s needs.
Robs behavioral training plan provided clear step by step instructions that were easy to understand and implement during our first training session.
The importance of establishing rules, building trust and creating boundaries were particularly beneficial. We are very grateful!
    Highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience with Robert — I saw results with my stubborn dog almost immediately. He quickly understood his personality, pinpointed the real issues, and showed me simple, effective techniques that actually worked. My dog is already calmer, more focused, and finally listening, and I left the first session feeling genuinely hopeful. I highly recommend Robert to anyone struggling with a tough dog.

Robert began the training 20 minutes before our scheduled time with a call to our house to explain techniques to help with our dog that races to the door and excitedly greets guests by jumping on them. Then he patiently spent three hours with us to go over methods to establish boundaries that helped with our real challenge: a 65lb dog that likes to pull. I’m amazed at the progress we’ve made in just two days. Turns out WE needed the training and Robert was an excellent teacher for us all. We’d highly recommend.

Photo of Lola and Yogi We have three dogs of different ages and breeds and there can be chaos in the house at times. Immediately after Robert stepped into the house and started implementing his techniques we saw improvement with our dog’s behaviors. Their barking and jumping was able to be controlled. Robert clearly explained his techniques and how to perform them and why they work. He then worked with us to ensure we grasped how to follow what he did and make sure our dogs listened to us. The improvement we saw in just a few hours convinced us we made the right decision in calling Robert for his help! Robert is great!!

    Robert is very knowledgable, patient,
and caring. He carefully explains the
program from human to dog point of view and what is expected. I can see small
changes in the first visit. I can actually use
the bathroom without barking or scratching
at the door. I know it will take time but my
dogs and I are up for the challenge. One of my goals for today is to copy the (bah) sound.

Photo of Grover Robert is an excellent trainer. The patience he has shown my family during Grover's training is exceptional. He has given us tools to understand our puppy's needs and behavior. He has given our daughter the confidence to handle Grover. He is a great teacher, trainer, and a wonderful person overall.
